Process of Transverse Angular Distortion during Butt Welding

open access: yesJournal of the Japan Welding Society, 1970
Processes of transverse angular distortion free from restraint and bending moment reacting to restraint of the distortion in bead-on-plate welding as well as in multi-layer groove welding of mild, steel plate have been observed (Figs. 1, 7 and 11). Thermal cycles at some points in welded region have been also recorded.

ROLE OF FCA WELDING PROCESS PARAMETERS ON BEAD PROFILE, ANGULAR AND BOWING DISTORTION OF FERRITIC STAINLESS STEEL SHEETS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Engineering Science and Technology, 2014
This paper discusses the influence of flux cored arc welding (FCAW) process parameters such as welding current, travel speed, voltage and CO2 shielding gas flow rate on bead profile, bowing distortion and angular distortion of 409 M ferritic stainless ...

The Influence of Manufacturing Oversizing on Postwelding Distortions of the Fillet Welded Joint

open access: yesPolish Maritime Research, 2015
Welding proces is basic joining technique in shipbuilding. Such method generated welding distortions which cause a lot of problems during the manufacturing process. In the literature it is proposed wide spectrum of suggestions for a correct estimation of

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Network Localization of Fatigue in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Fatigue is among the most common symptoms and one of the main factors determining the quality of life in multiple sclerosis (MS). However, the neurobiological mechanisms underlying fatigue are not fully understood. Here we studied lesion locations and their connections in individuals with MS, aiming to identify brain networks ...

Assembling a database of inherent strain for simplified distortion analysis in multi-layer and multi-pass welding of heavy section plate (Development of accuracy management system for high quality construction in welded structures on the basis of advanced theory of inherent strain)

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2016
In this paper, a database of the identically-distributed inherent strain within mechanical melting zone is developed and then applied for simplified distortion analysis in multi-layer and multi-pass welding of heavy section plate.

Rocking Curve Imaging Investigation of the Long-Range Distortion Field between Parallel Dislocations with Opposite Burgers Vectors

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
We observe a long-range distortion field between parallel dislocations with opposite Burgers vectors in a platelet-shaped single crystal of 4H-SiC with a low dislocation density (~103 cm/cm3).

Post‐COVID Fatigue Is Associated With Reduced Cortical Thickness After Hospitalization

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Neuropsychiatric symptoms are among the most prevalent sequelae of COVID‐19, particularly among hospitalized patients. Recent research has identified volumetric brain changes associated with COVID‐19. However, it currently remains poorly understood how brain changes relate to post‐COVID fatigue and cognitive deficits.

Inherent Relations among the Three Representations of Radar Target Angular Glint (in English)

open access: yesLeida xuebao, 2014
Based on ElectroMagnetic (EM) theory and the monopulse radar angle measurement principle, the formulae of angular glint for complex target are proposed and generally applied to tackling practical problems.

Glymphatic Dysfunction Reflects Post‐Concussion Symptoms: Changes Within 1 Month and After 3 Months

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) may alter glymphatic function; however, its progression and variability remain obscure. This study examined glymphatic function following mTBI within 1 month and after 3 months post‐injury to determine whether variations in glymphatic function are associated with post‐traumatic symptom severity ...
