Angular momentum stability of small atomic clusters

open access: yesZeitschrift für Physik D Atoms, Molecules and Clusters, 1994
The limits of stability of small atomic clusters with angular momentum are investigated as a function of the size and charge of the aggregates. Critical angular momenta are obtained in a di-cluster picture from the balance of a cohesive surface-surface interaction and the disruptive centrifugal and electric interactions.

Voltage Stability Control Based on Angular Indexes from Stationary Analysis

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
This paper presents a novel methodology for the calculation of angular indexes of an electrical system from stationary analysis, using load flow and nose curves (P–V) in each of the buses of the system to perform control actions and preserve or ...

Correction and Stabilization of Angular Kyphosis

Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, 1990
Reconstruction of normal geometric relationships, regardless of original pathology, has to be the goal when treating angular kyphosis. Since anterior and posterior spinal structures are involved, successful decompression, correction, and stabilization require both dorsal and ventral surgery.

Angular velocity stabilizer

Vestnik Mashinostroeniya, 2023
A mechanical analog of cyclotron motion is found and a scheme of the corresponding device, which can be called a stabilized rotator, is determined. The natural frequency of rotation of a stabilized rotator is strictly fixed (it does not depend on either the moment of inertia or the moment of impulse) and remarkably coincides with the natural frequency ...

Optimal angular stability of reflectionless metasurface absorbers

Physical Review B, 2021
In this work, we investigate the possibilities of reaching wide-angle perfect absorption with Huygens' metasurfaces possessing both electric and magnetic responses. We analyze the role of the anisotropy of the polarizability tensor of the unit cell and reveal the conditions for the optimal angular stability in symmetric absorption as well as ...

Attitude stabilization for aircraft under angular velocity constraint

IECON 2020 The 46th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2020
This paper mainly investigates the attitude control problem for a spacecraft. Not only angular velocity constraint but also external disturbances are considered in the system model. Under the action of proposed controller, the posture can be converged to the desired value, and the angular velocity can be asymptotically converged to the origin.

Stabilization of angular velocity of a rigid body

2011 Third International Conference on Measuring Technology and Mechatronics Automation, 2011
This paper addresses the control of angular velocity of a rigid body with two actuators. Based on the feedback transformed system, a discontinuous feedback control law is proposed with finite time terminal sliding mode. Numerical simulation is implemented. The result shows that the control law can stabilize the system with exponential rate.

Angular Stability of Intramedullary Elastic Osteosynthesis

Biomedical Engineering, 2016
The article presents results of biomechanical bench tests of bone fragment fixation using the model of a transverse diaphyseal fracture in a long cortical bone in two mutually perpendicular planes for different modes of installation of flexible titanium rods by the flexible intramedullary nailing (FIN) method.

Tunable Frequency Selective Surface With Angular Stability

IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2021
In this letter, a paradigm for designing tunable frequency selective surfaces (FSSs) with angular stability is presented. The tunable FSS is implemented by nonresonant subwavelength unit cells loaded with varactor diodes, which can be applied in a dynamic and efficient compensation mechanism.
