A Dual-Passband Frequency Selective Surface with High Angular Stability and Polarization Insensitivity [PDF]

open access: yesMicromachines
In this paper, a dual-passband frequency selective surface (FSS) with high angular stability and polarization insensitivity is proposed. The unit structure consists of a circular aperture, two annular apertures and four cross apertures.

Polarization-Insensitive Lithium Niobate-on-Insulator Interferometer

open access: yesMicromachines
The key components of a polarization-independent electro-optic (EO) interferometer, including the beam splitter, mode converter, and directional coupler, are designed based on a lithium niobate (LN) platform on an integrated insulator to ensure high ...

Nonmetallic Broadband Visible-Light Absorbers With Polarization and Incident Angle Insensitivity

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2020
We have proposed and theoretically analyzed nonmetallic broadband visible-light absorbers based on alternating SiO2/InAs thin films on SiO2 substrate.

Broadband Polarization-Insensitive Tunable Terahertz Metamaterial Absorber Based on an Asymmetric Graphene Structure [PDF]

open access: yesNanomaterials
A graphene-based tunable broad-band terahertz (THz) metamaterial absorber is presented, exhibiting strong and stable absorption across a wide frequency range.

Graphene-Based Absorber: Tunable, Highly Sensitive, Six-Frequency [PDF]

open access: yesMolecules
Due to the equipartition exciton property of graphene metamaterials, researchers have applied them to the design of absorbers and developed a series of absorbers covering different wavebands (including narrowband and broadband).

Metasurface-based broadband polarization-insensitive polarization rotator

open access: yesOptics Express, 2022
The polarizations of electromagnetic (EM) waves are very important for transceivers. We propose a broadband polarization-insensitive polarization rotator (PIPR), which can realize 90° polarization rotation for incident waves with an arbitrary azimuth angle.

Multi-Band Polarization Insensitive Ultra-Thin THz Metamaterial Absorber for Imaging and EMI Shielding Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Electromagnetics, 2021
this article, a multi-band polarization-insensitive metamaterial absorber is designed for THz imaging and EMI shielding. A unique oval-shaped structure with three circular ring-shaped resonators is proposed with a unit cell dimension of36×36×19.6μm3. The

Polarization-insensitive GaN metalenses at visible wavelengths [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
AbstractThe growth of wide-bandgap materials on patterned substrates has revolutionized the means with which we can improve the light output power of gallium nitride (GaN) light-emitting diodes (LEDs). Conventional patterned structure inspection usually relies on an expensive vacuum-system-required scanning electron microscope (SEM) or optical ...

Broadband achromatic mid-infrared metalens with polarization-insensitivity

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2022
Metasurfaces have shown excellent ability in manipulating light fields. However, the intrinsic chromatic aberration impairs the quality of their broadband operation, which is a serious problem restricting the application of metadevices, especially ...

Polarization-Insensitive Metalenses at Visible Wavelengths [PDF]

open access: yesNano Letters, 2016
In this Letter, we demonstrate highly efficient, polarization-insensitive planar lenses (metalenses) at red, green, and blue wavelengths (λ = 660, 532, and 405 nm). Metalenses with numerical apertures (NA) of 0.85 and 0.6 and corresponding efficiencies as high as 60% and 90% are achieved.
