Polarization insensitive imaging through polarization gratings
Liquid crystal polarization gratings exhibit high diffraction efficiency (approximately 100%) in thin material layers comparable to the radiation wavelength. We demonstrate that they can be combined for polarization-insensitive imaging and optical switching applications.

Polarization-Independent Filter Based on 2-D Crossed Grating Under Oblique Incidence
The existing polarization-insensitive filters based on two dimensional (2-D) grating are mostly under normal incidence. However, in filtering optical devices, the normal incidence regime is usually avoided because it requires the use of beam separators ...

Multiband Polarization-Insensitive Cartwheel Metamaterial Absorber
Abstract Metamaterials are specifically engineered to produce electromagnetic properties that are not available in natural materials. Multiband metamaterial (MM) absorbers achieve great research interest due to their applications in sensing, filtering, and stealth.

Visible light nearly perfect absorber: an optimum unit cell arrangement for near absolute polarization insensitivity [PDF]
In this work, we propose an optimum unit cell arrangement to obtain near absolute polarization insensitivity in a metal-insulator-metal (MIM) based ultra-broadband perfect absorber.

Incident-angle-insensitive and polarization independent polarization rotator
This paper proposes a method to design an incident-angle-insensitive polarization-independent polarization rotator. This polarization rotator is composed of layers of impedance-matched anisotropic metamaterial (IMAM) with each layer's optical axes gradually rotating an angle.

3D cross-bended metasurfaces with polarization insensitivity and high-Q resonances
Metasurfaces with high-quality (HQ) resonances are always desired for their potential applications in biomedicine and photonic devices. However, the realization of HQ near-infrared metasurfaces with polarization insensitivity has faced problems with ...

Simple design of efficient broadband multifunctional polarization converter for X-band applications
A simple design of a broadband multifunctional polarization converter using an anisotropic metasurface for X-band application is proposed. The proposed polarization converter consists of a periodic array of the two-corner-cut square patch resonators ...
