A cross-reactive monoclonal antibody to nematode haemoglobin enhances protective immune responses to Nippostrongylus brasiliensis. [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Nematode secreted haemoglobins have unusually high affinity for oxygen and possess nitric oxide deoxygenase, and catalase activity thought to be important in protection against host immune responses to infection. In this study, we generated a

Marine mammal recovery is associated with the resurgence of a nematode parasite
Abstract As the oceans change, the abundance of parasites and the risk of infection to marine mammals may also be changing. Nematodes in the family Anisakidae can harm marine mammals, and recent studies have revealed a global increase in these parasites, but the cause is unknown.

Survival Rate of Toxoplasma gondii Tachyzoites in Cow's Milk at Different Temperatures
The research paper identifies the thermal resistance of Toxoplasma gondii tachyzoites in cow's milk at different temperatures. The results indicate the possible danger of being infected by the raw or poorly heated milk, which suggests a great emphasis on the importance of thermal treatment of food to guarantee its safety.

ABSTRACT This review presents a comprehensive synthesis of research on yellowtail kingfish (Seriola lalandi) aquaculture, with a particular focus on production in recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS). Significant progress has been made in reproductive biology and captive spawning, which are critical for ensuring a reliable juvenile supply.

Three's a crowd: The relationship among endoparasites, an epibiont and their Daphnia host
In freshwater communities, organisms interact in a variety of ways, including predation, competition and parasitism. Parasites are ubiquitous, playing an important role in shaping freshwater communities. Endoparasites live within internal organs of their host, while ectoparasites, also known as epibionts, are confined to the external part of the host's

Eight microsatellite loci, recently developed in the species Anisakis pegreffii, were successfully amplified in Anisakis berlandi, sibling species of the A. simplex (s. l.) complex. They were validated on adult specimens (n = 46) of the parasite species,

The nematode Anisakis simplex (AS) is a world wide distributed parasite that infects consumers of raw or undercoocked parasitized fish. The clinical manifestation of Anisakiosis depend on the site in the digestive tract in which larva lodges. The symptoms develops as a result of the inflammation when the larvae penetrates the gastric mucous.

ABSTRACT The nematode Dictyocaulus viviparus causes parasitic bronchitis in cattle. There is a vaccine based on irradiated larvae against this parasite. However, no memory response is induced, and donor calves are needed for culturing the larvae. Therefore, a well‐defined subunit vaccine would be welcomed.
