Anisotropic Diffusion in the Hypercube
IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2007Denoising of hyperspectral images in the domain of imaging spectroscopy by vectorial anisotropic diffusion is addressed. Anisotropic diffusion has shown to be a powerful denoising technique with many applications in several fields of image processing, and in the recent years, some significant advances have been published.

Anisotropic protein diffusion on nanosurface
Nanoscale, 2020The migration of protein is regulated by the puckered surface of α-PC, resulting in quick and highly directional diffusion. In combination with the bio-compatibility, α-PC is expected to be a novel functional drug delivery agent in biomedical research.

The importance of multi-scale descriptions of images has been recognized from the early days of computer vision e.g. Rosenfeld and Thurston [309]. A clean formalism for this problem is the idea of scale-space filtering introduced by Witkin [386] and further developed in Koenderink [187], Babaud, Duda and Witkin[24], Yuille and Poggio [396], and Hummel [

Anisotropic diffusion for object segmentation
SMC 2000 Conference Proceedings. 2000 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man and Cybernetics. 'Cybernetics Evolving to Systems, Humans, Organizations, and their Complex Interactions' (Cat. No.00CH37166), 2002We describe a method for object segmentation that uses a modified version of the anisotropic diffusion algorithm. The original anisotropic diffusion is performed in the original image, and it is not suitable for texture or noisy images. Our method achieves accurate object detection by using anisotropic diffusion in another 2D space whose size is the ...

Bandelet-Based Anisotropic Diffusion
2007 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing, 2007Visual tasks often require a hierarchical representation of images in scales ranging from coarse to fine. A variety of linear and nonlinear smoothing techniques, such as Gaussian smoothing, anisotropic diffusion, regularization, wavelet thresholding etc... have been proposed. In this work, we propose a geometrical multiscale anisotropic diffusion based

Generalized diffusion equation for anisotropic anomalous diffusion
Physical Review E, 2006Motivated by studies of comblike structures, we present a generalization of the classical diffusion equation to model anisotropic, anomalous diffusion. We assume that the diffusive flux is given by a diffusion tensor acting on the gradient of the probability density, where each component of the diffusion tensor can have its own scaling law.

Oriented Speckle Reducing Anisotropic Diffusion
IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2007Ultrasound imaging systems provide the clinician with noninvasive, low-cost, and real-time images that can help them in diagnosis, planning, and therapy. However, although the human eye is able to derive the meaningful information from these images, automatic processing is very difficult due to noise and artifacts present in the image.

Similarity based anisotropic diffusion filter
2016 24th Signal Processing and Communication Application Conference (SIU), 2016Different filter methods to reduce noises occurred during image capture have been developed. One of the most effective image filters is diffusion filter. However, the major drawback of conventional diffusion filter is user-dependent. While noises are reduced with conductance coefficient arbitrarily selected, edge pixels are perceived such as noise.

Anisotropic Light Diffusion: An Oxymoron?
Physical Review Letters, 2007Light propagation in anisotropic random media is studied in the steady-state and time domains. Solutions of the anisotropic diffusion equation are compared to results obtained by the Monte Carlo method. Contrary to what has been reported so far, we find that even in the "diffusive regime" the anisotropic diffusion equation does not describe correctly ...
