ANL analysis of ZPPR-13A [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
The ZPPR-13 experiments provide basic physics data for radial heterogeneous LMFBR cores of approximately 700MWe size. Assemblies ZPPR-13A, ZPPR-13B and ZPPR-13C comprised the JUPITER-II cooperative program between the U.S. Department of Energy (US DOE) and PNC of Japan. The measurements were made between August 1982 and April 1984. The core designs and

The ANL/IBM SP scheduling system [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
During the past five years scientists discovered that modern UNIX workstations connected with ethernet and fiber networks could provide enough computational performance to compete with the supercomputers of the day. As this concept became increasingly popular, the need for distributed queuing and scheduling systems became apparent.

Contrasting Responses of Rodents With Different Habitat Associations to Rapid Urbanization in a Chinese Megacity

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
Rapid urbanization reshaped rodent populations, morphology, and gut microbiota along an urban–rural gradient. The synanthropic rat (Rattus norvegicus) increased in abundance toward the urban core and exhibited reduced ear and tail length, whereas the farmland mouse (Apodemus agrarius) and woodland rat (Niviventer confucianus) declined.

Macroscopic to ultrastructural analyses identify the loss of myofibrils as the primary mediator of ageing‐ and disuse‐induced muscle fibre atrophy

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Skeletal muscle structure was analysed at three levels in young vs. aged humans, and in young vs. aged mice subjected to unilateral hindlimb immobilization to model disuse. (1) Macroscopic: magnetic resonance imaging of the thigh (human) and wet mass of individual hindlimb muscles (mouse) revealed that both ageing and disuse ...

Consensus Guidelines for Diagnosis and Management of Pyruvate Dehydrogenase Complex Deficiency

open access: yesJournal of Inherited Metabolic Disease, Volume 49, Issue 6, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Primary pyruvate dehydrogenase complex deficiency (PDCD) comprises a group of monogenic disorders caused by pathogenic variants in genes encoding subunits of, or regulatory components affecting, the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex. The clinical phenotype spans a broad continuum, ranging from early onset congenital lactic acidosis to infantile ...
