Change In Microstructure and Mechanical Properties Of Four-Layer Stack ARB Processed Complex Aluminum Sheet with Annealing [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Metallurgy and Materials, 2021
The four-layer stack accumulative roll bonding (ARB) process using AA1050, AA5052 and AA6061 alloy sheets is performed up to 2 cycles without a lubricant at room temperature.

Variable Annealing Length and Parallelism in Simulated Annealing

open access: yesProceedings of the International Symposium on Combinatorial Search, 2021
In this paper, we propose: (a) a restart schedule for an adaptive simulated annealer, and (b) parallel simulated annealing, with an adaptive and parameter-free annealing schedule. The foundation of our approach is the Modified Lam annealing schedule, which adaptively controls the temperature parameter to track a theoretically ideal rate

What Is the Optimal Annealing Schedule in Quantum Annealing

open access: yes2020 IEEE Symposium Series on Computational Intelligence (SSCI), 2020
In many real-life situations in engineering (and in other disciplines), we need to solve an optimization problem: we want an optimal design, we want an optimal control, etc. One of the main problems in optimization is avoiding local maxima (or minima).

INVESTIGATING THE IMPACT OF ANNEALING TEMPERATURE ON THE MICROSTRUCTURE AND MECHANICAL PERFORMANCE OF SELECTIVELY LASER MELTED Ti6Al4V ALLOY [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Materials Science and Engineering, 2023
This research addresses the metallurgical and mechanical response during the annealing of Ti6Al4V parts fabricated by selective laser melting. The as-manufactured Ti6Al4V exhibited a very fine α´ martensitic structure with low ductility of less than 10%.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Effect of carbon nanotube content and annealing temperature on corrosion performance of carbon nanotube/Ni composite layer

open access: yesMaterials Research Express
Adding carbon nanotubes (CNTs) to metal composites changes their corrosion resistance, which is significantly affected by the distribution of CNTs.

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...
