Validation of artificial defects for Non-destructive testing measurements on a reference structure
Non-destructive testing was established over the last decades as an important tool for assessing damages, material characterization and quality assurance in civil engineering. For example, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) can be used to scan large areas of

Prediction of abundance of ants according to climate change scenarios RCP 4.5 and 8.5 in South Korea
In order to identify change of ant distribution expected due to climate change in South Korea, data on ants collected from 344 forest sites were used to predict change of abundance of ant species.

Two ways to degenerate the Jacobian are the same
A basic technique for studying a family of Jacobian varieties is to extend the family by adding degenerate fibers. Constructing an extension requires a choice of fibers, and one typically chooses to include either degenerate group varieties or degenerate

An Injection‐Molded Modified Silicone Rubber for Cancer‐on‐Chip Applications
This study describes the characterization and application of an injection‐molded functionalized PDMS fluidic insert for the commercially available Micronit system. Modified PDMS can accommodate cell culture and is able to covalently bind proteins for long‐lasting coatings under flow‐conditions.

Ants are known to use a colony-specific blend of cuticular hydrocarbons (CHCs) as a pheromone to discriminate between nestmates and non-nestmates and the CHCs were sensed in the basiconic type of antennal sensilla (S. basiconica).

On the Termination of Linear and Affine Programs over the Integers [PDF]
The termination problem for affine programs over the integers was left open in\cite{Braverman}. For more that a decade, it has been considered and cited as a challenging open problem.

On $\ell$-torsion in class groups of number fields
For each integer $\ell \geq 1$, we prove an unconditional upper bound on the size of the $\ell$-torsion subgroup of the class group, which holds for all but a zero-density set of field extensions of $\mathbb{Q}$ of degree $d$, for any fixed $d \in \{2,3 ...

Advanced Design for Weakly Coupled Resonators by Automatic Active Optimization
An Automatic Active Optimization (AAO) strategy integrates machine learning predictors and genetic algorithms in a closed‐loop workflow. By iteratively expanding its dataset with new discoveries, AAO overcomes the limits of conventional methods. This approach finds superior microstructural designs beyond the initial sample space. We demonstrate this on

Development of High‐Performance Multilayer Monochromators
Detailed insights into the optical and multilayer design of Double Multilayer Monochromators (DMM) are presented and fully characterized, including key optimization strategies and solutions to fabrication challenges. By integrating in‐house Ion Beam Figuring and a high uniformity multilayer coating process, the developed DMMs achieve high reflectivity,
