High‐Power Alkali‐Free Direct Formate Fuel Cell Enabled by Optimized Ionomer Loading With a Cation‐Exchange Membrane

open access: yesElectrochemical Science Advances, Volume 6, Issue 1, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Direct formate fuel cells (DFFCs) provide a safe liquid‐fuel pathway for renewable energy storage, yet achieving high performance under alkali‐free conditions remains challenging due to limitations in ion transport and catalyst‐layer structure.

Adhesion molecules in the maternal–fetal interface in healthy pregnancies and preeclampsia

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, Volume 105, Issue 2, Page 298-308, February 2026.
This study revealed elevated levels of adhesion molecules in the maternal circulation and reduced levels in the fetal circulation in preeclampsia. The findings suggest systemic maternal endothelial dysfunction in preeclampsia. Lower fetal adhesion molecule levels warrant further study. Abstract Introduction Adhesion molecules are markers of endothelial

Distinct Roles of SLC26A3 and CFTR in Surface pH Regulation and Bicarbonate Secretion in Human Intestinal Epithelium

open access: yesActa Physiologica, Volume 242, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Colonic bicarbonate secretion is mediated by the chloride/bicarbonate exchanger SLC26A3 and the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR). Dysfunction of either causes luminal acidosis, altered mucus properties, and inflammation.
