Exposing and Challenging “Grit” in Physics Education

open access: yesScience Education, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In STEM education, grit is increasingly the focus of research, with scholars and educators seeking to develop and test interventions that will enhance persistence. As part of the special issue Centering Affect and Emotion Toward Justice and Dignity in Science Education, in this paper, we use interviews with 12 white physics faculty to show ...

Drug Related Esophagitis

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Gastroenterology, 1989
Esophageal injury after ingestion of various drugs often goes unrecognized. Two cases of tetracycline induced esophagitis are reported. The main presenting symptoms were odynophagia and dysphagia for both solids and liquids following the first two or ...

Defective Antifluorite MnO2‐Layered RuO2 for Direct Seawater Electrolysis at Circum‐Neutral pH

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A defective antifluorite MnO2 overlayer that enables nearly 100% oxygen selectivity in direct seawater electrolysis at neutral pH is reported. Combining experimental validation and DFT simulations, this work reveals how a unique Mn–O framework blocks chloride while maintaining OER activity—offering a robust and scalable solution for green hydrogen ...

Chromium‐Doped NiBP Micro‐Sphere Electrocatalysts for Green Hydrogen Production under Industrial Operational Conditions

open access: yesSmall Methods, Volume 9, Issue 7, July 19, 2025.
The bifunctional Cr/NiBP ǁ Cr/NiBP demonstrates high‐performance overall water splitting over benchmark Pt/C ǁ RuO2. Coupling with Pt/C, the hybrid configuration of Cr/NiBP ǁ Pt/C shows more improved performance up to 2000 mA cm−2 high current density.

Management of xylazine toxicity, overdose, dependence, and withdrawal: A systematic review

open access: yesThe American Journal on Addictions, EarlyView.
Abstract Background and Objectives Xylazine, an alpha‐2‐adrenergic agonist, has been increasingly implicated in substance use and overdose crises. However, little is known about its effects on humans. With the growing public health crisis surrounding xylazine, it has become important to recognize and promptly manage symptoms of xylazine toxicity ...
