Ancient antagonism between CELF and RBFOX families tunes mRNA splicing outcomes

open access: yesbioRxiv, 2017
Over 95% of human multi-exon genes undergo alternative splicing, a process important in normal development and often dysregulated in disease. We sought to analyze the global splicing regulatory network of CELF2 in human T cells, a well-studied splicing ...

Basroparib inhibits YAP‐driven cancers by stabilizing angiomotin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Basroparib, a selective tankyrase inhibitor, suppresses Wnt signaling and attenuates YAP‐driven oncogenic programs by stabilizing angiomotin. It promotes AMOT–YAP complex formation, enforces cytoplasmic YAP sequestration, inhibits YAP/TEAD transcription, and sensitizes YAP‐active cancers, including KRAS‐mutant colorectal cancer, to MEK inhibition.

Metabolic Diversity of Rhizospheric Pseudomonas species of Bt Cotton Plant

open access: yesJournal of Pure and Applied Microbiology, 2018
A total 20 Pseudomonas species were isolated from BT cotton rhizosphere of 3 different regions of Nanded city. All these isolates were evaluated for plant growth promoting functional traits like plant hormones production, Phosphate solubilisation ...

Concentration-Dependent Antagonism and Culture Conversion in Pulmonary Tuberculosis

open access: yesClinical Infectious Diseases, 2017
Summary The relationship between drug concentrations, minimum inhibitory concentrations, and sputum culture conversion in tuberculosis is unclear. We identified concentration-dependent antagonism between isoniazid and rifampicin that was associated with ...

Cotargeting TREM2 and IL2 pathways triggers multipronged anticancer immunity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Von Locquenghien et al. report that MiTE‐144, a triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 2 (TREM2) blocking antibody fused to interleukin‐2 (IL2) variant with tumour microenvironment restricted activation, demonstrates superior anticancer efficiency in a preclinical setting.

ATG4B is required for mTORC1‐mediated anabolic activity and is associated with clinical outcomes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The relationship between anabolic and catabolic processes governing lung cancer cell growth is nuanced. We show that ATG4B, an autophagy regulator, is elevated in lung cancer and that high ATG4B is associated with worse patient outcomes. Targeting ATG4B in cells reduces growth, protein synthesis, and mTORC1 activity, demonstrating a new relationship ...

NTIFUNGAL POTENTIAL OF EXO-METABOLITES PRODUCED BY PENICILLIUM CAPSULATUM AGAINST PHYTOPATHOGENIC FUNGI [PDF]

open access: yesActa Scientifica Malaysia
Fungi are well-known producers of secondary metabolites, commonly referred to as exo-metabolites, which play crucial roles in ecological interactions, including plant protection.
