Mutual coupling compensation in small array antennas [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1990
A technique to compensate for mutual coupling in a small array is developed and experimentally verified. Mathematically, the compensation consists of a matrix multiplication performed on the received-signal vector. This, in effect, restores the signals as received by the isolated elements in the absence of mutual coupling.

A slot antenna array with low mutual coupling for use on small mobile terminals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In order to take full advantage of the benefits to be obtained by using MIMO techniques for mobile communications, it is necessary to use an antenna array which is both compact and also has low mutual coupling between ports.

Taguchi-RBF Neural networks Based Optimization of Phased Array Antenna With Coupling Effects

open access: yesAdvanced Electromagnetics, 2023
In the antenna array synthesis problems, most of the works in literature utilize isotropic elements. Thus, the mutual coupling effects between the array elements are neglected.

Impact of Mutual Coupling on Power-Domain Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA)

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
This paper investigates the impact of mutual coupling (MC) on the achievable sum-rate of power-domain non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) system in both uplink (UL) and downlink (DL) transmissions.

Mutual Coupling in Antenna Arrays 2013

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2014
The invention of antenna arrays opened up the door for microwave sensing and communications. Most applications of antenna arrays are in the defense and wireless communications areas. The introduction of multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) concept in recent years has opened up further opportunities in that the system performance can be maintained with

Exploiting Constructive Mutual Coupling in P2P MIMO by Analog-Digital Phase Alignment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper, we propose a joint analog-digital (A/D) beamforming scheme for the point-to-point multiple-input-multiple-output system, where we exploit mutual coupling by optimizing the load impedances of the transmit antennas.

Mutual Coupling Suppression in Antenna Arrays Using Meandered Open Stub Filtering Technique

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2020
Multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) systems utilize multiple antenna elements to improve channel capacity and achieve higher data rates. The successful implementation of MIMO systems requires low mutual coupling between antenna elements to reduce ...

Mutual coupling exploitation for point-to-point MIMO by constructive interference [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper, we propose a joint analog-digital (A/D) beamforming scheme for the point-to-point (P2P) multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) systems, where we exploit the mutual coupling effect to further improve the system performance.
