Time-domain three antenna method for evaluation of antenna factors of log-periodic antenna

2007 European Microwave Conference, 2007
we have proposed the method for evaluating the free- space antenna factor of a log-periodic broadband antenna (LPDA) with time-domain technique [1]. Our method is based on the techniques of time domain analysis and pulse compression technology. The introduced function enables us to isolate the direct wave from the reflected waves on the ground plane in

Q‐factor investigation of antennas over metamaterials substrates

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2010
AbstractIn this article, antennas over metamaterials substrates are investigated with the radiatingQfactor determined by using a time‐domain method. The main objective is to illustrate the electromagnetic behavior of this kind of complex structure by calculating its energy budget (stored and radiated energies).

Quality factor study of planar antennas

2011 Loughborough Antennas & Propagation Conference, 2011
In this paper, we present a quality factor study of electrically small planar antennas. Several matched and unmatched miniaturized monopole antennas using meander structures are designed, fabricated and measured. Antennas have different lengths and widths so they occupy different areas and volumes.

High Q-factor superconductor VHF antennae

International Journal of Infrared and Millimeter Waves, 1994
Two versions of elementary antennae fabricated of high temperature superconductors (HTS) are presented. The ceramic YBa2Cu3O7 strip as well as Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 thick film have been used as radiators operating in the wavelength ranges of 5 cm and 8 mm respectively.

Fast methods of computing antenna factor

2015 7th Asia-Pacific Conference on Environmental Electromagnetics (CEEM), 2015
This paper has proposed and illustrated two fast methods of computing antenna factor (AF) of a compact wideband antenna (CWA), which is designed to measure the electromagnetic environment inside spacecraft cabin. The computational results show good agreement with the experimental ones.

Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) antenna gain and factor

2016 IEEE Global Electromagnetic Compatibility Conference (GEMCCON), 2016
A method for calculating and measuring antenna gain and factor over perfect ground is presented. The electromagnetic compatibility antenna factor is used to determine the spurious electric field of the device under evaluation. The radio link employed to calibrate the receiving antenna gain and factor will produce completely different values for the ...

Quality Factor of a Nanobowtie Antenna

Journal of Lightwave Technology, 2011
We present a rigorous formulation based on the Poynting's theorem in dispersive and lossy media to calculate the quality factor, material loss, radiation loss, and radiation pattern of an optical nanobowtie antenna using the finite-difference time-domain method.

Emc Antennas and Antenna Factors: How to Use Them

2017
This AIR discusses the use and application of EMC antennas and antenna factors. The relationships between antenna gain, antenna factor, power density (W/m2), and field strength (V/m) are discussed. Some examples of their use are given. Illustrations of commercially available EMC antennas commonly used in performing EMI measurements are included.

Numerical simulation of the antenna factor of a broadband dipole antenna

2001 IEEE EMC International Symposium. Symposium Record. International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility (Cat. No.01CH37161), 2002
Antenna factor values provided by the manufacturer are typically determined based on the assumption that the antenna is used in the far field of the source. However, in some measurement situations the antennas are placed in the near field. In this work, a method of moments software code is used to simulate the antenna factor of a broadband dipole ...
