2017This AIR discusses the use and application of EMC antennas and antenna factors. The relationships between antenna gain, antenna factor, power density (W/m2), and field strength (V/m) are discussed. Some examples of their use are given. Illustrations of commercially available EMC antennas commonly used in performing EMI measurements are included.

Measurements of complex antenna factor by the near-field 3-antenna method
IEEE Transactions on Electromagnetic Compatibility, 1996The near-field 3-antenna method for measuring the complex antenna factor (CAF) is proposed in order to reduce the effect of the measurement site and background noise. The transmission coefficients in the far-field region are calculated from those measured in the near-field and theoretically obtained near-field correction factors (NCF).
