3D printed feed-chain and antenna components

2017 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation & USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting, 2017
This paper presents a set of additive manufactured (AM) monolithic waveguide-based feed-chain and antenna components, namely a Ku-band diplexer, a Ka-band dual-polarized directional antenna and W-band straight waveguides. These components provide representative examples of the current capabilities of AM technologies.

Fiber-optic feed for phased array antennas

Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics, 1986
A phased array antenna usually consists of a set of nearly identical elemental antennas positioned in an aperture to provide Nyquist spatial sampling for some angular field of view normal to that aperture. The phase of each element is controlled so that the far-field pattern from the array, the 2-D Fourier transform of the aperture field distribution ...

Microwave dipole antennas and feeds

1984
The early trends in microwave antenna design grew out of the practice of using dipole systems at longer wavelengths. Nevertheless, little systematic information has been obtained about microwave dipole systems. This is partly due to the greater difficulty in applying theory to practically useful microwave dipoles and partly to the urgent military needs

An UWB microstrip feeding quasi circular antenna

2010 7th International Conference on Electrical Engineering Computing Science and Automatic Control, 2010
We present the analysis of a quasi circular planar antenna for UWB applications. Analysis includes comparison of coplanar and microstrip feeding. Evolution from the circular antenna requires modifications in the structure and ground plane to soften the edges obtaining improvements in the antenna parameters agreeing with the theory proposed by John ...

Design and Optimization of Cluster Feed Reflector Antenna

2020
Based on the cluster-fed reflector antenna, a low-coupling cluster-fed reflector antenna design scheme is proposed to solve the problem of feed occlusion and beam scanning of the forward-fed reflector antenna. The accuracy test and feed coupling test of the prototype are carried out, and the test results meet the design requirements.

Monopulse networks for series feeding an array antenna

1967 Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 1968
Series networks for feeding an array antenna are attractive because they can be designed compactly. A series "ladder" network is available which is particularly applicable for feeding a monopulse array antenna since it has complete independent control of the sum and difference excitations, minimum dissipative loss, and physical symmetry.

Phased array antenna system with a fixed feed antenna

2019
According to an example aspect of the present invention, there is provided an antenna array for a transmit-array antenna system with a fixed feed antenna, comprising an inner radiating surface for receiving a first signal from the fixed feed antenna, an outer radiating surface for emitting a second signal from the antenna array and a platform for ...
