Multifunctional Reflector Antenna Feeds
2006 16th International Crimean Microwave and Telecommunication Technology, 2006In this paper the design of multifunctional reflector antenna feeds and the methods for their radiation patterns calculation is considered. Reflector antennas (RA) have large gain factor and receive in radio relay, troposphere and satellite radio systems. Multifunctional RA must operate in several separated frequency bands (multiband), on linear and/or

A Quadband Antenna With Reconfigurable Feedings
IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2009A compact inverted-F antenna (IFA) with switchable feeds is proposed in this letter. The antenna occupies a relatively small volume of 50 times 7 times 7 mm3. Two pin diodes are used to switch the antenna between two different working states. The antenna can provide the required bands of GSM850 (824-894 MHz), GSM900 (890-960 MHz), DCS (1710-1880 MHz ...

A multi-feed antenna for antenna-level power combining
2016 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation (APSURSI), 2016This paper proposes a multi-feed antenna structure that synthesizes the desired radiation characteristics with antenna-level power combining. Compared with an antenna array that spatially combines the radiation E-field and H-field at the far-field, the proposed multi-feed antenna combines the radiation power from different feeds directly on the antenna.

Dielectric Feeds for Reflector Antennas
1975 5th European Microwave Conference, 1975Special dielectric antennas used as elements for a feed of multi-beam or limited-scan reflector antennas have been developed. As a result of the close arrangement of the feed elements, their cross-sectional dimensions must be small and their mutual coupling should be as low as possible.

Characterization of tapered slot antenna feeds and feed arrays
IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1990A class of feed antennas and feed antenna arrays used in the focal plane of paraboloid reflectors and exhibiting higher than normal levels of cross-polarized radiation in the diagonal planes is addressed. A model which allows prediction of element gain and aperture efficiency of the feed/reflector system is presented.

In the present discussion covering the most important types, those aspects which are of particular practical interest to the designer will be covered, emphasising available options and including references to the latest advances in feed design. For the sake of descriptive economy and consistency, it will be assumed, unless otherwise stated, that the ...

Slotted microstrip patch antenna with embedded feed
2014 IEEE Radio and Wireless Symposium (RWS), 2014A 60 GHz band slotted microstrip patch antenna with embedded microstrip line feed is presented. The slotted patch effectively provides two degrees of freedom for achieving the same operating frequency. These are the patch and the slot lengths. An equation is reached to determine the operating frequency of the antenna, verified to be accurate to within ...

Reflector antennas are widely used on satellites to communicate with ground stations. They simultaneously transmit and receive RF signals using separate downlink and uplink frequency bands. These antennas require compact and high-performance feed assemblies with small size, low mass, low passive intermodulation (PIM) products [1], low insertion loss ...

Wideband planar spiral antenna with peripheral feeding
2017 International Conference on Information and Telecommunication Technologies and Radio Electronics (UkrMiCo), 2017In the paper the new type of a low-directional circular polarization antenna is presented. The antenna design is a planar spiral with a small number of turns of variable width, surrounded by a flat conducting screen. On the basis of numerical simulation, the frequency dependences of the main parameters of antenna for various design modifications are ...
