Slotted microstrip patch antenna with embedded feed
2014 IEEE Radio and Wireless Symposium (RWS), 2014A 60 GHz band slotted microstrip patch antenna with embedded microstrip line feed is presented. The slotted patch effectively provides two degrees of freedom for achieving the same operating frequency. These are the patch and the slot lengths. An equation is reached to determine the operating frequency of the antenna, verified to be accurate to within ...

A dual-polarized dipole antenna with balun feed
2014 International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation Conference Proceedings, 2014A novel dual-polarized dipole antenna excited by two cross strip baluns is presented. The operation bandwidth of the proposed antenna can be widely altered by varying the coupled strip of balun. The antenna has good performance in isolation which is more than 20 dB between the two input ports.

Wideband planar spiral antenna with peripheral feeding
2017 International Conference on Information and Telecommunication Technologies and Radio Electronics (UkrMiCo), 2017In the paper the new type of a low-directional circular polarization antenna is presented. The antenna design is a planar spiral with a small number of turns of variable width, surrounded by a flat conducting screen. On the basis of numerical simulation, the frequency dependences of the main parameters of antenna for various design modifications are ...

IEEE Antennas and Propagation Magazine, 2010
Reflector antennas are widely used on satellites to communicate with ground stations. They simultaneously transmit and receive RF signals using separate downlink and uplink frequency bands. These antennas require compact and high-performance feed assemblies with small size, low mass, low passive intermodulation (PIM) products [1], low insertion loss ...

3D printed feed-chain and antenna components
2017 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation & USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting, 2017This paper presents a set of additive manufactured (AM) monolithic waveguide-based feed-chain and antenna components, namely a Ku-band diplexer, a Ka-band dual-polarized directional antenna and W-band straight waveguides. These components provide representative examples of the current capabilities of AM technologies.

Fiber-optic feed for phased array antennas
Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics, 1986A phased array antenna usually consists of a set of nearly identical elemental antennas positioned in an aperture to provide Nyquist spatial sampling for some angular field of view normal to that aperture. The phase of each element is controlled so that the far-field pattern from the array, the 2-D Fourier transform of the aperture field distribution ...

An UWB microstrip feeding quasi circular antenna
2010 7th International Conference on Electrical Engineering Computing Science and Automatic Control, 2010We present the analysis of a quasi circular planar antenna for UWB applications. Analysis includes comparison of coplanar and microstrip feeding. Evolution from the circular antenna requires modifications in the structure and ground plane to soften the edges obtaining improvements in the antenna parameters agreeing with the theory proposed by John ...

Microwave dipole antennas and feeds
1984The early trends in microwave antenna design grew out of the practice of using dipole systems at longer wavelengths. Nevertheless, little systematic information has been obtained about microwave dipole systems. This is partly due to the greater difficulty in applying theory to practically useful microwave dipoles and partly to the urgent military needs
