Design of integrated wideband WR34‐band diplexer‐antenna array module for exploration of monolithic metal 3‐D printing for space applications

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation
The design of a wideband diplexer integrated with a 16‐slot Continuous Transverse Stub (CTS) antenna array is presented. The diplexer‐antenna array module covers the whole WR34 band. The Tx and Rx bands cover 21.7–26 and 27.5–33 GHz ranges, respectively.

Targeting Post‐Irradiation Thyroid Dysfunction: Electrospun Scaffolds As A Dual‐Action Approach for Antioxidant and Immune Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Radiation‐induced hypothyroidism follows head and neck radiotherapy due to oxidative stress and inflammation. Electrospun polycaprolactone scaffolds containing adenosine have potential to modulate thyroid repair. Scaffolds enhance thyrocyte proliferation, antioxidant enzymes glutathione peroxidase and catalase, reduce senescence and apoptosis markers ...

Dual band low-profile switched beam Square Loop Antenna with capacitively coupled feeds

open access: yes, 2014
A low profile dual-band switched beam Square Loop Antenna (SLA) with capacitively coupled feeds is presented. Two co-centered square loops are capacitively coupled to the four vertical feeding probes by four rectangular feeding patches.

Packed Hydrogel Microfibers as Scaffolds Supporting Dynamic Cellular Behavior and Biomaterial Inks in 3D Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Packed hydrogel microfiber (PHM) materials consist of flexible and high aspect ratio hydrogel components that, as a bulk material, are simultaneously mechanically robust and dynamic. Cells cultured in or on PHM scaffolds can be influenced by topographical cues or interact with a dynamic environment that permits cell spreading and multicellular ...

The numerical solution of waveguide discontinuity problems [PDF]

open access: yes, 1969
A computational method for solving a wide range of transverse and longitudinal waveguide discontinuity problems is described. Results are obtained by the simultaneous solution of matrix equations, generated by Fourier analysis, which relate the complex ...

Self‐Assembled Skin Equivalents with Monoclonal CRISPR/Cas9‐Modified N/TERT‐1 Keratinocytes: A Cutting‐Edge model for Human Skin and its Diseases

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Self‐assembled, scaffold‐free full‐thickness skin equivalents with monoclonal, genetically modified N/TERT‐1 keratinocytes represent a novel in vitro model of human skin and skin diseases. The model is highly robust, reproducible, physiologically relevant, and suitable for high‐throughput applications.

Advanced Feeds for mm-Wave Antenna Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Millimeter-wave antenna systems have traditionally required high performance feeds in order to fulfill its stringent requirements. Therefore, this goal has been achieved by corrugated horns. However, in the last years new applications mainly in the communication systems have driven the use of other types of antenna feed with slightly reduced ...
