Secondary Intraocular Lens Implantation: Anterior Chamber vs Posterior Chamber Lenses

Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging Retina, 1993
ABSTRACT We retrospectively studied 348 cases of secondary lens implantation, comparing data obtained from 234 eyes that received anterior chamber intraocular lenses (AC-IOLs) with 114 that received posterior chamber lenses (PC-IOLs), with a mean follow up of 19.5 months (range, 2 to 77 months).

Implantation of a Staar silicone intraocular lens with the anterior chamber maintainer

Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 1996
A method for performing phacoemulsification and implantation of a foldable lens (Staar AA 4203) with an anterior chamber maintainer is described. The procedure eliminates the need for viscoelastics, preventing postoperative pressure elevation and reducing costs.

Prediction of the effective postoperative (intraocular lens) anterior chamber depth

Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 2006
To investigate methods to predict the effective postoperative anterior chamber depth (ACD) based on a large patient sample.University Eye Clinic, Aarhus Kommunehospital, Aarhus, Denmark.Based on 6698 consecutive cataract operations with recorded postoperative refractive results, the postoperative effective ACD was calculated in each case and studied by

Flexible Open-loop Anterior Chamber Intraocular Lens Implants

Ophthalmology, 1993
To determine the efficacy of flexible open-loop anterior chamber intraocular lens (AC IOL) implants in cataract surgery complicated by vitreous loss and in secondary implantation. Results were reviewed in 18 eyes in the former group and in 43 eyes in the latter group that were operated on by the author over an 8-year period.Of 18 eyes in the former ...

Management of a Displaced Angle-Supported Anterior Chamber Intraocular Lens

Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging Retina, 2006
Abstract. A 49-year-old patient had a displacement of an anterior chamber intraocular lens (IOL) producing a cyclodialysis cleft and persistent hypotony with maculopathy. The patient underwent intraocular lens extraction, repair of the cyclodialysis cleft, and iris-fixation of an acrylic posterior chamber IOL with resolution of the hypotony and ...

The Hessburg flexible anterior chamber intraocular lens.

Ophthalmic surgery, 1985
This report describes the technique of implantation of the Hessburg anterior chamber intraocular lens (IOL). It also documents the complications and results in 240 patients. This lens appears to be a satisfactory anterior chamber IOL for use in patients who have had intracapsular cataract extraction.
