Anterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy Due to Calciphylaxis

Abstract: A 72-year-old woman experienced anterior ischemic optic neuropathy in her left eye. The funduscopic and fluorescein angiographic findings were strongly suggestive of giant cell arteritis. Temporal artery biopsy revealed extensive calcification in the vessel wall consistent with calciphylaxis.
