Correlation of vitreous chamber depth with ocular biometry in high axial myopia

open access: yesIndian Journal of Ophthalmology, 2022
Purpose: The proportion of axial length (AL) occupied by vitreous chamber depth (VCD), or VCD:AL, consistently correlates to ocular biometry in the general population. Relation of VCD:AL to ocular biometry in high myopia is not known. The purpose of this

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Does graves ophthalmopathy affect anterior segment parameters?

open access: yesAnnals of Medical Research, 2021
Aim: To evaluate whether anterior segment parameters (ASPs) differ between patients with Graves’s ophthalmopathy (GO) and healthy individuals. Materials and Methods: In a case-control study, 62 patients with GO and 45 healthy sex- and age-matched individuals were compared for ASPs obtained from Scheimpflug camera imaging (Sirius, Florence, Italy). The

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Refractive changes of a new asymmetric intracorneal ring segment with variable thickness and base width: A 2D finite-element model.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2021
PurposeTo evaluate the local geometric effects of a unilateral intrastromal ring segment with a combined variation of ring thickness and base width in a finite element simulation, and to compare it against the isolated effect of thickness or base width ...

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Anterior segment parameters associated with extramuscular manifestations in polymyositis and dermatomyositis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Ophthalmology, 2020
To evaluate detailed anterior segment parameters of patients with idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIM), including polymyositis (PM), and dermatomyositis (DM), and to clarify the associations between these data and clinical variables of IIM.Totally 57 PM, 41 DM patients and 62 controls were enrolled in this cross-sectional, observational, case ...
