Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Deep learning-based anterior segment identification and parameter assessment of primary angle closure disease in ultrasound biomicroscopy images

open access: yesBMJ Open Ophthalmology
Purpose To develop an artificial intelligence algorithm to automatically identify the anterior segment structures and assess multiple parameters of primary angle closure disease (PACD) in ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM) images.Design Development and ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

The Use of Artificial Intelligence for Estimating Anterior Chamber Depth from Slit-Lamp Images Developed Using Anterior-Segment Optical Coherence Tomography

open access: yesBioengineering
Primary angle closure glaucoma (PACG) is a major cause of visual impairment, particularly in Asia. Although effective screening tools are necessary, the current gold standard is complex and time-consuming, requiring extensive expertise.

Post-operative complications of penetrating corneal keratoplasty in patients with anterior segment toxic syndrome secondary to cataract surgery

open access: yesABCS Health Sciences, 2020
Introduction: Toxic Anterior Segment Syndrome (TASS) after cataract surgery may cause severe corneal decompensation that compromises corneal transparency and may require penetrating corneal keratoplasty to improve visual acuity.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Comparison of endothelial/Descemet’s membrane complex thickness with endothelial cell density for the diagnosis of corneal transplant rejection

open access: yesTherapeutic Advances in Ophthalmology, 2018
Purpose: This study compared the effectiveness of endothelial/Descemet’s membrane complex thickness obtained using high-definition anterior segment optical coherence tomography with endothelial cell density obtained using confocal microscopy as ...

Flow Enabled Target Capture Halbach‐based magnetic enrichment increases circulating tumor cell capture from blood in metastatic cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pair‐wise comparison of the CellSearch and FETCH enrichment technologies for circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from metastatic breast, prostate, and small cell lung cancer patients shows an increased capture of CTCs using FETCH enrichment. The clinical implementation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) as a predictive tool for therapy efficacy in the ...

New IOL formula using anterior segment three-dimensional optical coherence tomography.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
This retrospective study was aimed to compare prediction errors from various combinations of biometric data generated using optical coherence tomography (OCT) and develop a new intraocular lens (IOL) formula using biometric data.

Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...
