Anthocyanidins from leucoanthocyanidins
Phytochemistry, 1965High acid strength and small amounts of iron have been effectively combined to improve the yield of anthocyanidins from leucoanthocyanidins over that obtained by currently used methods. An improved method for routine estimation of leucoanthocyanidins in plant extracts is outlined.

Computational aspects of anthocyanidins and anthocyanins: A review

Their colorant properties, bioavailability and antioxidant activity, made anthocyanins and anthocyanidins largely adopted in food and pharmaceutical industries.

Fluorescent Products of Anthocyanidin and Anthocyanin Oxidation
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2020We found that the oxidation of cyanidin with hydrogen peroxide, tert-butyl hydroperoxide, 2,2'-azobis(2-methylpropionamidine), 3-morpholinosydnonimine hydrochloride, sodium hypochlorite, Fe3+, and Fe2+ induced the appearance of a new fluorescence band, centered at 525-540 nm when excited at 470-490 nm.

A DFT investigation of anthocyanidins
Chemical Physics Letters, 2005Abstract A theoretical analysis of anthocyanidins, a class of natural plant pigments, has been conducted using density functional theory at the B3LYP/6-31G(d) level. It is found that these compounds are non-planar, with the 2-phenyl ring twisted relative to the benzopyrylium rings.
