Photoionization of anthracene and anthracene derivatives

Journal of Photochemistry and Photobiology A: Chemistry, 1999
Anthracene (III) and the derivatives 9-methoxymethylanthracene (IV), 9-cyanoanthracene (V) and (E-3-phenyl-prop-2-ene-1-yl(anthracene-9-methyl)-ether) (I) were subjected to irradiation at inca347 nm in dilute deoxygenated acetonitrile solution at room temperature.

Anthracene derivatives from Auxemma oncocalyx

Phytochemistry, 2000
Three anthracene derivatives, auxenone, oncocalyxonol and auxemim, were isolated from Auxemma ontocalyx. The structures of these compounds as 1,4,8-trihydroxy-2-methoxy-5-methyl-9,10-anthraquinone, rel-9alpha,11alpha-epoxy-1,4,8alpha,11alpha-tetrahydroxy-2-methoxy-8a beta-methyl-5,6,7,8,8a,9, 10,10a beta-octahydro-10-anthracenone and rel-8alpha,11beta ...

Sidechain engineering in anthracene derivatives: towards photofunctional liquid crystals [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Nanotechnology, 2017
Copyright © 2017 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd. A series of anthracene derivatives were synthesised to explore how their sidechain configurations influenced their phase behaviour and thereby guiding the design of photofunctional liquid crystalline ...

Synthesis of New Anthracene Derivatives

The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2006
An efficient synthesis is described for hexabromoanthracenes 3 and 4 by direct bromination of 9,10-dibromoanthrecene 2. Whereas base-induced elimination of hexabromide 3 with t-BuOK gave 2,3,9,10-tetrabromoanthracene 5, the reaction of hexabromide 4 with DBU afforded 1,3,9,10-tetrabromoanthracene 6 as the sole product.

Synthesis and solar-cell applications of novel furanyl-substituted anthracene derivatives

open access: yesOptical Materials, 2017
At present, novel furanyl-substituted anthracene derivatives; namely 9,10-di(furan-2-yl)anthracene (DFA), 5,5'-(anthracene-9,10-diyl)bis(furan-2-carbaldehyde) (DAFA) and 2,2'-((5,5'-(anthracene-9,10-diyl)bis(furan-5,2-diyl))bis ...

DNA binding by antitumor anthracene derivatives

Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 1990
The relative DNA binding strengths of bisantrene and nine new analogues were measured by spectrophotometric titration and melt transition temperature (Tm) techniques. Data from the spectrophotometric titrations could not be fit by simple Scatchard plots. However, they were fit by a McGhee-von Hippel equation over part of the binding range.

Phosphorus derivatives of anthracene and their dimers

Chemische Berichte, 1992
AbstractThe syntheses of the (9‐anthracenyl)phosphanes 2 to 7 and of the metal carbonyl complexes 8 and 9 are described. Both 1 and 4 undergo [4 + 4] cycloaddition when irradiated, forming the dimers 10 and 11. Only one of the six possible rotamers for 10 is formed. For 11 one additional rotational isomer is observed.

Hydrocyclopropa[b]anthracene derivatives

Journal of the Chemical Society, Perkin Transactions 1, 1980
Robinson annelation of the 10-hydroxymethylene derivative of 1β,4,4-trimethyl-3α,5α-tricyclo[5.4.0.03,5]undec-7-en-9-one with methyl and ethyl vinyl ketones has yielded hydrocyclopropa[b]anthracenones whose products of reduction and cyclopropane scission are reported.

Photoluminescence in anthracene and it’s derivatives

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2016
The anthracene and it’s derivative 9-chloro acridine and Anthracene-9-ylmethylacetate have prepared in Poly vinyl alcohol(PVOH). Their photoluminescence properties have studied. The pure anthracene has an emission at 424 and 443nm. The intense peak is observed at 465nm and shoulder at 407nm.
