Identification of short-chain oxidized phosphatidylcholine in human plasma

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1996
Oxidized phospholipids have been recognized as potentially important compounds that carry biological activities similar to the platelet-activating factor, but their presence in biological tissue has not been firmly established.

Ultrastable Self‐Cross‐linkable Electro‐Optic Materials Based on a Bisanthracene Scaffold

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
A novel bisanthracene‐based self‐cross‐linkable electro‐optic chromophore (TD2) is developed. TD2 exhibits a high r33 of 141 pm/V and a cross‐linked Tg up to 195 °C, retaining 99.75% of its initial EO response after 500 h at 85 °C, showing record‐high thermal stability for single‐molecule self‐cross‐linking EO materials.

Intramolecular Nickel‐Catalyzed Reductive Coupling: Enantioselective Synthesis of Tetrahydroisoquinolines and Related Heterocycles

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The successful extension of the nickel‐catalyzed asymmetric coupling of polarized 1,3‐dienes with aldehydes to an intramolecular setting opens an efficient new entry into hydroxylated N‐heterocyclic compounds, most notably valuable tetrahydroisoquinolines.

Ambiphilic Ligand Stabilization of Aluminum(I) Fragments: Halides, Cations, and a Hydride

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Stabilization of elusive aluminum(I) halides in the framework of an ambiphilic ligand is reported. The unique bonding situation at the trigonal‐bipyramidal aluminum center is analyzed, and the coordination chemistry and Al(I)Br transfer reactivity of the complexes are presented.

Effects of carminic acid on gene expressions under epigenetic regulation

open access: yesBiochemistry and Biophysics Reports
Carminic acid, which is an anthracene derivative, is a dye used as a food additive. Although anthracene is considered not to be epigenetic modifier, some anthracene derivatives affect yeast flocculation that is under the epigenetic regulation.

Crystal structure of 6-(p-tolyl)benzo[b]naphtho[2,3-d]thiophene and of an orthorhombic polymorph of 7-phenylanthra[2,3-b]benzo[d]thiophene

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E: Crystallographic Communications, 2016
The title compounds, C23H16S, (I), and C26H16S, (II), are benzothiophene derivatives in which the benzothiophene moiety is fused with a naphthalene ring system in (I), and with an anthracene ring system in (II).

One Molecular Platform, Three Distinct Narrowband Organoboron TADF Emitters: A Divergent One‐Pot Strategy From Green to Red

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
One platform–three emitters: Divergent one‐pot borylation of a single indolocarbazole platform exploits competing mono‐ and double‐borylation pathways to generate three spectrally distinct organoboron MR‐TADF emitters spanning green to red, enabling color‐tunable narrowband OLEDs with external quantum efficiencies over 30%.
