Efficient non-doped blue light emitting diodes based on novel carbazole-substituted anthracene derivatives

open access: yes, 2014
In this study, we synthesized three anthracene derivatives featuring carbazole moieties as side groups -2-tert-butyl-9,10-bis[4-(9-carbazolyl)phenyl]anthracene (Cz(9)PhAnt), 2-tert-butyl-9,10-bis{4-[3,6-di-tert-butyl-(9-carbazolyl)]phenyl}anthracene (tCz(

Facile Synthesis of Dibenzo-7λ3‑phosphanorbornadiene Derivatives Using Magnesium Anthracene

open access: yes, 2016
Unprotected dibenzo-7λ3-phosphanorbornadiene derivatives RPA (A = C14H10 or anthracene; R = tBu, dbabh = NA, HMDS = (Me3Si)2N, iPr2N) are synthesized by treatment of the corresponding phosphorus dichloride RPCl2 with MgA·3THF, in cold THF (∼20% to 30 ...

Beyond the Oxo‐Wall: Synthesis and Reactivity of a Six‐Coordinate Formally CoIV‐Oxo Complex

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
We present the first example of a six‐coordinate formally Co(IV)‐oxo complex, [Co(TQA)(O)(OH)]+ (1), which exists as an admixture of CoIV‐oxo and CoIII‐oxyl resonance structures. Complex 1 is capable of performing oxygen atom transfer reactions and abstracting moderately strong hydrogen atoms at rates faster than other characterized CoIV‐oxo compounds.

Water, Alcohols, Amines, and Amides as Formal Hydrogen‐Atom‐Transfer Reagents Through Activation With Redox‐Active Lewis Acids

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Protic molecules containing strong O─H or N─H bonds typically resist hydrogen‐atom abstraction because of the high reactivity of the resulting heteroatom‐centered radicals. However, association of the protic molecules with redox‐active Lewis acids can provide powerful hydrogen‐atom donors or proton‐coupled‐electron‐transfer reagents.

Dicyanovinyl End-Capped 9,10-Bis (Phenylethynyl) Anthracenes for Organic Solar Cells

open access: yesTechnical Transactions, 2018
A series of 9,10-bis(phenylethynyl)anthracene dicyanovinyl end-capped derivatives have been used in bulk heterojunction (BHJ) photovoltaic cells prepared by the solution process. The compounds were excessively decorated with moieties enhancing solubility

Carbocation Lewis Acid Catalyzed Diels–Alder Reactions of Anthracene Derivatives

open access: yes, 2018
The carbocation salt [Ph3C][BArF] has been identified as a viable Lewis acid catalyst for the Diels–Alder reactions between anthracene derivatives and unsaturated carbonyl compounds with good selectivity and high ...
