Structural and Variable-Temperature NMR Studies of 9-Diisopropylphosphanylanthracenes and 9,10-Bis(diisopropylphosphanyl)anthracenes and Their Oxidation Products

open access: yes, 2016
The diisopropylphosphanyl-substituted anthracenes i-Pr2P(C14H9) (1a), i-Pr2P(C14H8)Br (2a), and (i-Pr2P)2(C14H8) (3a) and some of their oxidation products were prepared from 9-bromoanthracene and 9,10-dibromoanthracene, respectively.

Photooxidation of Anthracene [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan, 1968
Abstract It was found that anthracene (I) was converted to 9,10-anthraquinone (III) and bianthrone (IV) by irradiation via anthracene peroxide (II). The reaction proceeded most effectively in carbon disulfide. Also IV was found to be oxidized to III by oxygen in singlet state.

Butterfly-shaped Dibenz[a,j]anthracenes: Synthesis and photophysical properties [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
A strategy for the synthesis of dibenz[a,j]anthracenes (DBAs) from cyclohexa-2,5-diene-1-carboxylic acids is presented. Our approach involves sequential C–H olefination, cycloaddition, and decarboxylative aromatization.

Jet spectroscopy of anthracene and deuterated anthracenes [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 1984
Fluorescence excitation and SVL fluorescence spectra of jet-cooled h10-, 9d1-, 9,10d2-, and d10- anthracene are reported. Ground state vibrational assignments are presented for all these species and are compared with literature values. In addition, assignments for the first excited singlet state of h10- anthracene are made using SVL spectra and ...

Kinetic Stabilization of Blue‐Emissive Anthracenes: Phenylene Bridging Works Best

open access: yes, 2021
In attempts at kinetically stabilizing blue‐emissive anthracenes, a series of 9,10‐diaryl substituted derivatives were tested for their photochemical and photooxidative persistence.

The Effect of Benzannulation on the Structures, Reactivity and Molecular Dynamics of Indenes, Pentalenes, Azulenes and Related Molecules

open access: yesMolecules, 2022
The stabilising effect of benzannulation on isoindenes formed in the course of sigmatropic shifts of (C5H5)Fe(CO)2 or of organo-silyl groups, and on exocyclic allyl intermediates in the course of haptotropic shifts of organometallic fragments over ...
