Beyond Gut Modulation: A Critical Review of the Therapeutic Potential, Safety, and Clinical Prospects of Natural Polysaccharides for IBD

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
In this review, we critically summarized the application of natural polysaccharides (NPs) for the treatment of IBD. This approach combines, in a unique way (right), the basic structure–activity relationships of NPs from different origins (left) with their multipronged mode of action, which involves modulation of the gut microbiota and other ...

Beyond Tradition: An Integrated Toxicological, Ecological, and Public Health Perspective on Aristolochic Acids

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aristolochia species have long been used in traditional medicine for their presumed anti‐inflammatory, analgesic and antimicrobial properties. However, extensive toxicological and epidemiological evidence now demonstrates that these plants contain aristolochic acids (AAs) I and II, highly potent nephrotoxic, genotoxic, and carcinogenic ...

European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition/North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition guidelines for treatment of functional constipation in children aged 0–18 years

open access: yesJournal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives Functional constipation (FC) is common in childhood, significantly impacting quality of life. Since the 2014 international guideline, new evidence has been published, and methods on making guidelines have developed. This treatment guideline for FC in children aged 0–18 years is a collaborative effort of the European and North ...

CEEN: A Control Software for Coupled Electrochemistry, EPR, and NMR for Redox Flow Battery and Electrosynthesis Research

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Chemistry, EarlyView.
We present CEEN: a Python‐based control software for coupled electrochemistry, EPR, and NMR for redox flow battery (RFB) and electrosynthesis research. We demonstrate CEEN through practical applications relevant to aqueous organic and inorganic RFB and electrochemical synthesis research. The same setup can be readily used to study any (electrochemical)

Efficient water‐soluble blue/red‐emissive carbon dots matching plant absorption spectra: Synthesis, tunable control, and their applications in promoting plant growth

open access: yesResponsive Materials, EarlyView.
Guided by the spectral demand of plant photosystems, this review summarizes the synthesis, emission regulation, dual‐emission design, and gram‐scale production of CDs for agricultural applications. Spectrally matched blue‐ and red‐emissive CDs enhance plant light utilization by converting underutilized light into photosynthetically active radiation and

Visible‐light‐promoted catalyst‐free benzylic C‐H oxidation using molecular oxygen as a green oxidant

open access: yesSmart Molecules, EarlyView.
A green and simple photo‐oxygenation of benzylic C‐H bond with molecular oxygen was developed for the preparation of a series of carbonyl compounds. The straightforward C‐H carbonylation strategy features catalyst‐ and additive‐free reaction conditions, only oxygen as a green oxidant, broad scope and scalable, and the simple‐operation nature.
