Increased Plasma Microbial tDR‐1 in At‐Risk Individuals Is Associated With Decreased Conversion to Clinical Rheumatoid Arthritis and Reduces an In Vitro Macrophage Type 1 Interferon Response

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Microbial small RNAs can regulate human genes. Higher plasma concentrations of microbial transfer RNA (tRNA)‐derived RNA‐1 (tDR‐1) were previously associated with lower rheumatoid arthritis (RA) disease activity. This study examined whether tDR‐1 concentrations differ in anticyclic citrullinated peptide‐3 positive (CCP3+) at‐risk individuals (

Anti-Cyclic Citrullinated Peptide Frequency in Patients with Chronic Hepatitis C Virus Infection and Effect of Presence of Systemic Disease

open access: yesEurasian Journal of Medicine, 2012
Objective: Patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection may show a variety of rheumatic symptoms and signs. Anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (anti-CCP) is widely used as as a marker, particularly for rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and may be ...

Assessment of the Correlation between Disease Activity and Serum Biomarker Anti-MCV and IL6 in Iraqi Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesمجلة كلية الطب
Background: Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease characterized by autoantibodies against citrullinated antigens. The anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide test is commonly used to diagnose rheumatoid arthritis, whereas the anti-mutated ...

Anti–Carbamylated Fibrinogen Autoantibodies of IgG and IgA Isotypes Contribute to a Better Prognostic Stratification in Very Early Rheumatoid Arthritis: Data From the French National ESPOIR Cohort

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence and longitudinal evolution of anti–carbamylated fibrinogen antibodies (ACa‐Fib) of IgG and IgA isotypes in early rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and determine whether these antibodies provide additional diagnostic and prognostic information beyond anti–cyclic citrullinated peptide (anti‐CCP ...

Evidence of fibrinogen as a target of citrullination in IgM rheumatoid factor-positive polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis

open access: yesPediatric Rheumatology Online Journal, 2011
Background Several studies have noted the significance of measuring anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (CCP) antibodies in juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) as an important indicator for destructive disease, as is the case in rheumatoid arthritis (RA ...

Targeting neutrophil extracellular traps in metabolic and immune niche: Nanomaterials for diabetes tissue regeneration

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
The effects of NETs on regeneration of various diabetic tissues, and strategies targeting NETs for diabetes tissue regeneration. In the diabetic environment, NETs undergo complex metabolic and immune reprogramming, leading to dynamic changes in antibacterial and proinflammatory functions, and affecting regeneration of multiple systemic tissues.

Profiling anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibodies in patients with juvenile idiopathic arthritis

open access: yesPediatric Rheumatology Online Journal, 2012
Background Anti-citrullinated protein/peptide antibodies (ACPA), have high specificity for rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Some children with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), phenotypically resemble RA and test positive for rheumatoid factor (RF) a ...

Biogenesis of TNF‐α‐insights into proteostasis and inflammation

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
TNF‐α biogenesis, trafficking, and signalling are tightly and reciprocally coupled to cellular proteostasis systems, including ER chaperones and endoplasmic reticulum‐associated degradation. This bidirectional crosstalk determines whether TNF‐α responses are adaptive or proteotoxic.
