Efficacy and Safety of Second‐Line Lenvatinib After First‐Line Durvalumab Plus Tremelimumab in Unresectable Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesHepatology Research, Volume 56, Issue 5, Page 861-866, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Background There is a paucity of data regarding the efficacy and safety of lenvatinib as a second‐line treatment following first‐line combination immunotherapy with durvalumab and tremelimumab (Dur + Tre). Methods This retrospective multicenter study included 14 patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma who received lenvatinib after ...

Post‐to Pretreatment Ratio of Serum CXCL10 Level Predicts Short‐Term Liver Function Outcome in Compensated and Decompensated Cirrhotic Patients Due to Chronic Hepatitis C Virus Infection After Direct‐Acting Antiviral Therapy

open access: yesHepatology Research, Volume 56, Issue 5, Page 840-852, May 2026.
The post‐to pretreatment serum CXCL10 ratio was independently associated with short‐term liver function outcome following HCV eradication in cirrhotic patients. ABSTRACT Aim The prognostic value of serum C‐X‐C motif chemokine ligand 10 (CXCL10) levels for liver function was investigated in hepatitis C virus (HCV)–infected patients with compensated or ...

Virological outcomes with Bictegravir/Emtricitabine/Tenofovir alafenamide (B/F/TAF) in people previously treated with darunavir‐based antiretroviral therapy

open access: yesHIV Medicine, Volume 27, Issue 5, Page 803-808, May 2026.
Abstract Background Darunavir‐based antiretroviral therapy (ART) is commonly used in people with HIV who experience adherence challenges and/or have complex resistance patterns. Changes in ART commissioning have led to an increased use of Bictegravir/Emtricitabine/Tenofovir alafenamide (B/F/TAF) in these populations despite limited real‐world outcome ...

Calibration and discrimination ability of the Dat'AIDS score in people living with HIV aged 70 years and older from the Dat'AIDS cohort

open access: yesHIV Medicine, Volume 27, Issue 5, Page 771-784, May 2026.
Abstract Objective The Dat'AIDS score was developed to predict 5‐year mortality risk in people living with HIV aged 60 and older. However, its validity in people living with HIV aged 70 years and older needed confirmation. Methods This was a multicentre prospective cohort study in the Dat'AIDS French cohort.

The Role of NLRP1, AIM2 and MEFV Inflammasomes in the High‐Intensity Interval Training of Individuals With Obesity

open access: yesImmunology, Volume 178, Issue 1, Page 109-117, May 2026.
This study shows that 8 weeks of high‐intensity interval training (HIIT) modulate inflammasome‐related gene expression in individuals with obesity. HIIT increased AIM2, MEFV, CARD16 and CARD18 expression, with CARD16 upregulation supporting reduced inflammation through inhibition of caspase‐1 activation and lower IL‐1β levels.

Multi‐Centre, Single‐Arm, Prospective Evaluation of Ovine Forestomach Matrix for the Treatment of Complex Wounds in the South Asian Population

open access: yesInternational Wound Journal, Volume 23, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Acute and chronic wounds are a significant clinical and economic challenge worldwide. In India, adoption of advanced bioscaffolds remains constrained by cost, limited healthcare access and cultural/religious beliefs. Ovine forestomach matrix (OFM)‐based devices have demonstrated utility in wound bed preparation and soft tissue reconstruction ...

Evaluation systems for anti-HCV drugs

Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews, 2007
Development of therapeutics for chronic hepatitis C has been hampered by the lack of an efficient cell culture system and a small animal model for the hepatitis C virus (HCV). An RNA replicon system, in which the HCV genome replicates autonomously in cells, and replication competent viruses derived from an HCV genotype 2a JFH1 strain efficiently ...

The Specificity of Anti‐HCV Supplementary Assays

Vox Sanguinis, 1995
AbstractA total of 920 samples from blood donors screened as anti‐HCV negative by two third‐generation screening assays (Ortho Diagnostics v3.0 and Murex Diagnostics VK48) were tested by two supplementary anti‐HCV assays, RIBA III (Ortho Diagnostics) and Western blot (Murex Diagnostics VK68).
