Second-Generation Anti-HCV Tests Predict Infectivity
Vox Sanguinis, 1992AbstractTwenty‐four blood donors found positive for the first‐generation hepatitis C antibody (anti‐HCV) test (Ortho EIA‐I) and 88 of their recipients over the period from 1972 to 1990 were retrospectively investigated with different first‐and second‐generation anti‐HCV tests.

Epidemiology of anti-HCV antibodies in France
1992The aim of this large survey which covered 173,038 unselected blood donors, was to determine the seroprevalence of anti-HCV antibodies and surrogate markers (ALT and anti-HBc) in France. The results revealed a frequency of 0.63% of anti-HCV positive donors.

[Anti HCV drugs--ribavirin, telaprevir].
Nihon rinsho. Japanese journal of clinical medicine, 2012The goal of treatment of chronic hepatitis C is the elimination of HCV. Ribavirin and telaprevir are currently used with interferon. In patients with genotype 2 HCV, PEG-IFN+ RBV combination therapy is very effective, but in patients with genotype 1, only SVR can be achieved in only approximately 50%. Furthermore in genotype 1, viral factors i.e. ISDR,

Performance of VIDAS® anti-HCV as a second-line test for the detection of anti-HCV antibodies
2014OBJECTIVES:Detection of specific antibodies is crucial for routine diagnosis of Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. Nowadays, many commercial tests based on chemiluminescence technology are available as highsensitive screening methods. In case of weak reactivity on first-line assays, further investigations are required to discriminate true-positivity ...
