New‐Onset Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Cancer Risk: A Matched Cohort Study in China Kadoorie Biobank

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is rising rapidly in China and is linked to increased cancer risk, but causality remains unclear due to biases. We examined the causal effect of T2DM on cancer risk using bias‐minimizing methods.

Enhanced peripheral blood mononuclear cell lipid metabolism drives poor immunotherapy response via ferroptotic stress‐induced T cell exhaustion in hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
Integrated multi‐omics reveals that CD36‐mediated lipid overload in PBMCs drives T cell exhaustion via sub‐lethal ferroptotic stress and AKT suppression. This systemic metabolic signature serves as a robust predictor of immunotherapy response in HCC, suggesting that modulating lipid metabolism can rescue immune fitness.

The Clinicopathological Characteristics and Prognosis of Cholangiolocarcinoma: A Multicenter Study With a Central Pathology Review

open access: yesJournal of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Cholangiolocarcinoma (CLC) is a rare liver cancer with ≥ 80% ductular configuration (DC). Given its rarity, its clinicopathological characteristics remain poorly understood, and its status as a distinct disease entity remains controversial.

THE EFFECT OF ISOLATION OF ANTI-HCV POSITIVE PATIENTS ON THE INCIDENCE OF HCV INFECTION IN A HEMODIALYSIS UNIT

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Nephrology, 2019
İn this study, HD patients with anti-HCV positive and negative were dialysed in different rooms and seperate machines, and the effects of this isolation on anti-HCV seroconversion in the cases without HCV infection were investigated.

European Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN) position paper on screening, diagnosis and investigation of paediatric metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease

open access: yesJournal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, EarlyView.
Abstract Metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is the most common reason for elevated liver enzymes in children in Europe, affecting more than 5% of all children. Since the last iteration of this position paper, there have been substantial advances in our understanding of the disease.

JAK Inhibitors in Psoriatic–Atopic Dermatitis Overlap: A Four‑Case Series

open access: yesJEADV Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Overlap between psoriasis and atopic dermatitis (AD) poses diagnostic and therapeutic challenges; monoclonal antibodies targeting a single axis may improve one component while worsening the other [1]. Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors act pleiotropically and may provide simultaneous control of psoriatic and eczematous inflammation [2].

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ANTI-HCV IgM AND VIREMIA (HCV-RNA) IN THE HEMODIALYSIS PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC HCV INFECTION.

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Nephrology, 2019
İn the present study, anti-HCV IgM (EIA, Abbott), HCV-RNA by PCR and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels were determined in 30 hemodialysis patients (16 F, 14 M) detected for anti-HCV positivity (ELISA-I1, Abbott) at least for 6 months, and the ...

Interactive Roles of Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease and Nutritional Status in the Prognosis of Patients With Hepatocellular Carcinoma After Surgical Resection

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The prognostic effect of concurrent metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) on outcomes for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients remains unclear. The Prognostic Nutritional Index (PNI) reflects nutritional and inflammatory status and is a well‐known prognostic factor.

Circulating Omega‐3 Fatty Acids and Cardiometabolic Outcomes: A Systematic Review of Publications From UK Biobank

open access: yesLipids, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Studies have shown that omega‐3 fatty acids may protect against cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) and related metabolic conditions. UK Biobank is a large cohort study that includes data on plasma omega‐3 fatty acids at study entry and health outcomes during the follow‐up period.
