L‐type Voltage‐Gated calcium channels partly mediate Mechanotransduction in the intervertebral disc

open access: yesJOR SPINE, Volume 5, Issue 4, December 2022., 2022
This study investigated the expression and function of voltage‐gated ion channels in the intervertebral disc. One channel, Cav2.2, was found to be upregulated in degeneration, while L‐type voltage gated calcium channels were found to be involved in mediating calcium signaling and the response of disc cells to dynamic compression.

Research on deception jamming of chaotic composite short-range detection system based on bispectral analysis and genetic algorithm–back propagation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2019
The chaotic compound short-range detection system is a new type of short-range detection system, which has strong anti-jamming ability. However, for the deception jamming, the characteristics of the complex short-range detection system are very similar ...

Biomedical applications of silk and its role for intervertebral disc repair

open access: yesJOR SPINE, Volume 5, Issue 4, December 2022., 2022
For years, researchers have been seeking a suitable biomaterial to repair and/or regenerate the intervertebral disc (IVD) and a promising candidate to fill this gap could be the application of silk. Therefore, this review aims to elaborate on the different origins from which silk is harvested, the characteristics of each silk type and how it can be ...

Anti-jamming techniques for multichannel SAR imaging [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
An airborne broadband jammer present in the mainbeam of a Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) can potentially destroy a large region of the SAR image. In addition to this, multipath reflections from the ground, known as hotclutter or terrain scattered ...

Characterization of Genetic Landscape and Novel Inflammatory Biomarkers in Patients With Adult‐Onset Still's Disease

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Adult‐onset Still disease (AOSD) is a systemic autoinflammatory disorder (AID) of unknown etiology. Genetic studies have been limited. Here, we conducted detailed genetic and inflammatory biomarker analysis of a large cohort with AOSD to investigate the underlying pathology and identify novel targets for potential treatment.

Effects of secukinumab on enthesiophyte and erosion progression in psoriatic arthritis –a one‐year double‐blind, randomized, placebo‐controlled trial utilizing high‐resolution peripheral quantitative computed tomography

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Accepted Article.
Objectives This study aimed to ascertain the effect of secukinumab on erosion and enthesiophyte progression in psoriatic arthritis (PsA) by high‐resolution peripheral quantitative computed tomography (HR‐pQCT). Methods This was a phase 4, double‐blind, randomized, placebo‐controlled trial.

WisperNet: Anti-Jamming for Wireless Sensor Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Resilience to electromagnetic jamming and its avoidance are difficult problems. It is often both hard to distinguish malicious jamming from congestion in the broadcast regime and a challenge to conceal the activity patterns of the legitimate ...
