The 15‐Year Survival Advantage: Immune Resilience as a Salutogenic Force in Healthy Aging
Aging Cell, EarlyView.Human aging shows puzzling diversity: similar aging rates yet vastly different health outcomes. Our study of ~17,500 people revealed a health‐promoting trait (more common in women) linked to strong immune resilience and high expression of TCF7, a key immune gene. This trait enables individuals to fight infections like COVID‐19 more effectively, respond Muthu Saravanan Manoharan, Grace C. Lee, Nathan Harper, Justin A. Meunier, Marcos I. Aging Cell, EarlyView.Explants of human postmenopausal ovarian cortex and medulla were treated with doxorubicin for 24 h followed by culture for up to 10 days in doxorubicin‐free medium. Single nuclei sequencing and proteomics revealed an unbiased signature of ovarian senescence driven by epithelial cells in the cortex and stromal cells in the cortex and medulla ...Pooja Raj Devrukhkar, Mark A. Aging Cell, EarlyView. This study reveals that in vitro senescence induction methods significantly influence intracellular biomolecular profiles, showing both shared and unique metabolic responses. A novel bioanalytical pipeline was developed to explore these subphenotypes, highlighting the importance of targeting metabolic redox circuits and serine/taurine pathways for ...Domenica Berardi, Gillian Farrell, Abdullah AlSultan, Ashley McCulloch, Nicole M. Aging Cell, EarlyView.Created in BioRender. Laird, E. (2025) https://BioRender.com/bqfajrn. ABSTRACT
Age is a significant risk factor for functional decline and disease of the musculoskeletal system, yet few biomarkers exist to facilitate ageing research in musculoskeletal tissues. Multivariate models based on DNA methylation, termed epigenetic clocks, have shown promise as Daniel C. Green, Louise N. Reynard, James R. Henstock, Sjur Reppe, Kaare Gautvik, Mandy J. Addiction, EarlyView.Abstract Background and Aims
The International Scientific Forum on Alcohol Research (ISFAR), many of whose members are linked to the alcohol industry, has published over 280 critiques on alcohol and health research. This study investigated whether ISFAR critiques favour studies reporting alcohol's health benefits while being more critical of those ...James M.
