Microglial HVCN1 Deficiency Improves Movement and Survival of SOD1G93A ALS Mice by Enhancing Microglial Migration and Neuroprotection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 13, 3 March 2026.
Hydrogen voltage gated channel 1 (HVCN1) is upregulated in microglia of both ALS patients and its mouse model. HVCN1 deficiency enhances microglial migration via suppressing Akt signaling, promotes neurotrophic capacity and motor function, and prolongs survival of the SOD1G93A ALS mice. This study identifies HVCN1 as a novel, promising druggable target

ROS‐Responsive Wedelolactone Hydrogel Promotes Intervertebral Disc Repair by Disrupting the NF‐κB–LCN2 Inflammatory Feedback Loop

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 14, 9 March 2026.
A mechanically robust, ROS‐responsive hydrogel is engineered to treat intervertebral disc degeneration by targeting the NF‐κB–LCN2 inflammatory feedback loop. By delivering wedelolactone specifically within oxidative niches, this system disrupts macrophage–disc cell crosstalk.

Design of a New Anti-Lock Braking System for Motorcycles [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Design and Manufacturing Technology, 2011
A new anti-lock braking system (ABS) for motorcycles is proposed in this study. It functions by processing the speed of the motorcycle tire in contact with the ground relative to the speed of the motorcycle itself and by calculating the slip ratio (λ) of

Rapamycin Reduces Amyloid‐β Plaques and Improves Behavioral Performance in a Sex‐Dependent Manner in Mouse Models of Amyloidosis

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 3, March 2026.
Rapamycin treatment reduced cerebral Aβ plaque burden, alleviated neuritic dystrophy, suppressed glial hyperactivation, and increased plaque‐associated microglial recruitment in amyloidosis mouse models, resulting in improved memory performance. Mechanistically, rapamycin enhanced microglial lysosomal degradation, facilitated lipid droplet clearance in

Predictive Performance of Anti-Lock Braking System with PID Controller Optimized by Gravitational Search Algorithm for a Quarter Car Model: Simulation Modeling and Control

open access: yesAutomotive Experiences
Anti-lock Braking Systems (ABS) are critical safety components in the passenger vehicles. The ABS prevents wheel lock-up during braking and maintains vehicle control.

Varying Charge Voltage in the Steps Control Method of ABS for In-Wheel Motors Driven Electric Vehicles Based on an Improved LQG Scheme

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
This paper explores a coordinated control strategy of the anti-lock braking system (ABS) for in-wheel motors driven electric vehicles to recover more braking energy while satisfying the target of slip ratio control based on a newly varying charge voltage

Engineering a Tumor‐Targeted MgH2@Lip/PD‐L1 Nanoplatform for Synergistic Hydrogen Therapy and Immune Activation

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer‐related deaths worldwide, yet immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) is often compromised by an immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME) with acidosis, hypoxia, and poor T cell infiltration. Here, we develop a TME‐responsive nanoplatform (MgH2@Lip/PD‐L1) that couples hydrogen gas therapy with PD ...

Design and Implementation of Active Brake Pedal Simulator Integrating Force Feedback and Energy Optimization

open access: yesWorld Electric Vehicle Journal
Brake pedals and wheel braking units are mechanically decoupled in brake-by-wire systems. This causes the driver to lose the familiar pedal feel. To address this issue, this paper designed an active braking pedal simulator based on the long-travel ...

Prefrontal Cortex Dysfunction as a Precipitating Factor for Schizophrenia and Depression

open access: yesJournal of Neurochemistry, Volume 170, Issue 3, March 2026.
Stress during adolescence or adulthood affects the ability of the prefrontal cortex (PFC) to adaptively regulate stress. Maladaptive adult stress leads to PFC hypofunction and a hypodopaminergic state in the medial, affect‐related ventral tegmental area (VTA), resulting in amotivation.
