Divergent Total Synthesis of Denudatine Alkaloids Cochlearenine, Macrocentrine, Dictizine, 15‐Veratroyl‐17‐Acetyl‐19‐Oxodictizine, and the Proposed Structure of Acochlearine

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 4, 22 January 2026.
An intramolecular Mannich reaction (A/B/E/F rings) and intermolecular Diels–Alder reactions (C/D rings) afforded a cage‐like hexacyclic core skeleton of denudatine alkaloids. Derivatization of the hexacyclic intermediate enabled the first asymmetric total syntheses of four denudatine alkaloids: (–)‐cochlearenine, (–)‐macrocentrine, (–)‐dictizine, and (–

A QUANTUM CHEMICAL STUDY OF THE CONFORMATION OF ALINIDINE A NEW ANTIARRHYTHMIC AGENT [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sciences, Islamic Republic of Iran, 1991
The conformation of alinidine a new and specific bradycardic agent was studied using MNDO method. It has been found that the rotation of both phenyl and imidazoline ring of this compound is restricted.

Supraventricular Tachycardias Using Multiple Accessory Pathways

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 1, February 2026.
Three atrioventricular reciprocating tachycardias (AVRTs) using 3 accessory pathways (APs) occurred with the His bundle eliminated by the previous ablation. Two AVRTs using 2 right APs rotated reversely, and the other AVRT was one with a retrograde conduction through the left AP and anterograde conduction through the 2 right APs.

Effect of Testosterone Therapy on Cytochrome P450 3A and P‐Glycoprotein Activities Using Midazolam and Digoxin as Probe Substrates Among Transgender Adults

open access: yesPharmacotherapy: The Journal of Human Pharmacology and Drug Therapy, Volume 46, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Gender‐affirming testosterone therapy is one part of the standard of care for more than 1 million transgender adults in the United States. Testosterone therapy may influence the activities of drug‐metabolizing enzymes and transporters, but knowledge about its effect on the pharmacokinetics of other medications is limited.

Association of Weight Loss Composition Following Metabolic‐Bariatric Surgery With Incident Major Adverse Cardiovascular Events and All‐Cause Mortality

open access: yesClinical Obesity, Volume 16, Issue 1, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Severe obesity is associated with an increased cardiovascular risk. Metabolic‐bariatric surgery (MBS) can reduce the risk of cardiovascular events and mortality, potentially depending on weight loss composition. This study assessed the association between post‐MBS weight loss composition and major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) and all ...

Postoperative Atrial Arrhythmias After Lung Transplantation: A Single Center Analysis of Risk Factors, Management, and Outcomes

open access: yesClinical Transplantation, Volume 40, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Postoperative atrial arrhythmia (POAA) is common after lung transplant, but data on its implications and management are limited. This study assessed POAA incidence and timing, its association with mortality and rehospitalizations, and outcomes related to postoperative beta‐blocker use.

Do antiarrhythmics prevent sudden death in patients with heart failure? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Beta-blockers (class II antiarrhythmics) reduce sudden death and total mortality in patients with heart failure (strength of recommendation [SOR]: A, based on systematic reviews of randomized controlled trials).

Sodium glucose co‐transporter 2 inhibitors versus dipeptidyl peptidase‐4 inhibitors and the risk of ventricular arrhythmia among patients with type 2 diabetes: A population‐based cohort study

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue 2, Page 935-945, February 2026.
Abstract Aims To determine whether sodium glucose co‐transporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) use, compared with dipeptidyl peptidase‐4 inhibitors (DPP4i) use, is associated with the risk of ventricular arrhythmias (VA) among patients with type 2 diabetes. Materials and Methods We conducted a population‐based cohort study using a prevalent new‐user design and
