Antibiotic-associated diarrhea in pediatric practice. Modern therapy
Rational antibacterial therapy is a major component of treatment of children with various infectious inflammatory diseases. However, widespread use of antibiotics in pediatric practice is not always reasonable and often leads to different complications.

Microgels enable independent control of stiffness and interstitial space, overcoming limitations of conventional 3D hydrogels. Using fragmented gelatin methacryloyl microgels, we show that stiffness does not restrict non‐metastatic breast cancer growth, contrary to bulk hydrogels, and reveal the role of adherent‐to‐suspension transition in cancer ...

A pathology‐informed engineering strategy rescues reconstituted HDL from inflammatory dysfunction in sepsis. By integrating a ceria nanozyme‐celastrol coordination complex, the platform preserves HDL structure and endotoxin handling, sustains hierarchical intracellular delivery, and enhances immunoregulation across pathological models, translating ...

A high‐throughput screening platform was established by integrating an in vivo cadaverine biosensor with a fluorescence‐activated cell sorting (FACS) system. Biosensor‐driven specific exporter tuning, pathway optimization and genome‐wide target mining were conducted to maximize cadaverine production in Escherichia coli.

KO‐NH2 is a synthetic metallophore that preferentially binds Ga3+ over Fe3+ and is recognized by bacterial transporters. Photocrosslinking identifies CirA and Fiu as key uptake proteins in E. coli. KO‐NH2 enables targeted imaging and treatment of E. coli soft tissue infections.

An intelligent engineered probiotic platform is developed for the precision management of inflammatory bowel disease. By integrating surface‐displayed adhesins with an inflammation‐responsive CAT‐SOD‐GPx tripartite fusion system and mucosal repair factors, this programmable system achieves prolonged intestinal retention and multi‐pronged therapy.

Development and characterisation of an in vitro human gut model to study the biofilm mode of growth of clostridium difficile and the indigenous gut microbiota [PDF]
Clostridium difficile infection (CDI) is associated with significant patient morbidity, mortality and financial burden. Until recently, antimicrobial treatment options were limited to metronidazole and vancomycin, but both agents are associated with ...

A synthetic glycoconjugate vaccine based on a diacetylated Salmonella trisaccharide elicits broadly protective antibodies against four major human pathogenic serovars. Mechanistic studies identify 2,3‐di‐O‐acetylation of rhamnose as a critical determinant of antigen recognition and breadth of protection, establishing a new strategy for broad‐spectrum ...
