In vivo interspecies dissemination of IncM2-type blaNDM-1 carrying plasmid
The gastrointestinal tract is a unique ecological niche with a high abundance of various Enterobacterales in close proximity. This allows the exchange of mobile genetic elements that carry resistance determinants.

Antibiotics and Antibiotic Resistance
According to the World Health Organization (WHO)’s "First Global Report on Antibiotic Resistance“, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC&P), the spread of "superbugs“ - bacteria that have changed in ways that render antibiotics ineffective against them - is a serious and growing threat around the world...

Antibiotic susceptibility and resistance [PDF]
The realization that peptic ulcer disease was caused by an infectious agent has led to the still ongoing search for the most appropriate therapy. Many therapies have been tried, with the conclusion that multiple drug combinations are at present essential

ABSTRACT Sutures are crucial for tissue approximation and wound healing. Besides their strength limits requirement, they often fail to effectively address complications like infection and pain. Inspired by natural silk's “core‐sheath” structure, our suture features a wet‐spun core of n zinc‐fortified silk fibroin fibers (RSF‐Zn2+) after drawing with ...

Combating Antibiotic Resistant Bacteria [PDF]
Effectively combating antibiotic resistance requires a strategy of continual surveillance and analysis of resistant bacteria and an accelerated research and development (R&D) cycle for new antibiotics.

Gellan gum fluid gel (FG) enables controlled ocular delivery of mesenchymal stromal cell (MSC)‐derived extracellular vesicles (EV). Its shear‐thinning, solid‐liquid‐solid rheology ensures prolonged ocular retention. Sustained MSC‐EV release (∼18% in 6 hrs) supports effective EV ocular delivery.

We introduce a new fabrication method that overcomes the current limitation of tubular gap electrospinning. We successfully fabricated a seamless hollow tube with fibers aligned along the longitudinal axis in diameters as small as 300 µm, and then reinforced it using 4‐axis 3D printing.

Evaluation of Immunocompetent Urinary Tract Infected Balb/C Mouse Model For the Study of Antibiotic Resistance Development Using Escherichia Coli CFT073 Infection [PDF]
Urinary tract infections (UTI) are common worldwide and are becoming increasingly difficult to treat because of the development of antibiotic resistance.

Nanoemulsion delivery of a TLR7 agonist enhances safety and promotes colocalization with Leishmania‐infected macrophages in skin lesions, enabling a ∼2‐log reduction in parasite burden. However, tissue‐level constraints and TLR‐driven regulatory feedback generate a mixed immune response that limits complete parasite clearance.
