Viruses and bacteria are the most frequent agents, whereas fungi and parasites contribute less commonly, even remaining clinically relevant, especially in the immunocompromised population.

Cytosolic delivery of bacterial metabolites by riboflavin transporters promotes MR1 antigen presentation and MAIT cell recognition

VitBAg antigen presentation is promoted through a cytosolic pathway that reaches ligand‐receptive MR1 to present to MAIT cells, like the riboflavin transport pathway.
