m6A mRNA demethylase FTO regulates melanoma tumorigenicity and response to anti-PD-1 blockade [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Melanoma is one of the most deadly and therapy-resistant cancers. Here we show that N6-methyladenosine (m6A) mRNA demethylation by fat mass and obesity-associated protein (FTO) increases melanoma growth and decreases response to anti-PD-1 blockade ...

Inhibition of CDK9 enhances AML cell death induced by combined venetoclax and azacitidine

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The CDK9 inhibitor AZD4573 downregulates c‐MYC and MCL‐1 to induce death of cytarabine (AraC)‐resistant AML cells. This enhances VEN + AZA‐induced cell death significantly more than any combination of two of the three drugs in AraC‐resistant AML cells.

Production of IgY Specific Antibody Against Entero Pathogenic Escherichia coli (EPEC) in Egg Yolk

open access: yesJurnal Kedokteran Hewan, 2008
Antibody to Enteropathogenic Eschericia coli (EPEC) K1.1. can be produced in egg yolk by the application of inactivated bacterial cells intravenously in layer chicken. The presence of specific antibody in sera and egg can be detected with immunodiffusion

The Immune System [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
Modern biotherapy has been in use for some 30 years. The first types of biotherapy were nonspecific stimulators of the immune response, but advances in genetic engineering are allowing the mass production of pure biological products which are now being ...

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Interleukin-10-producing LAG3+ regulatory T cells are associated with disease activity and abatacept treatment in rheumatoid arthritis

open access: yesArthritis Research & Therapy, 2017
Background Regulatory T cells (Tregs) play a role in the suppression of inflammation in autoimmune diseases, and lymphocyte activation gene 3 (LAG3) was reported as a marker of interleukin (IL)-10-producing Tregs.

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

(5) Kinetics and Significance of Auto-antibody Producing Cell

open access: yesJapanese Journal of Medicine, 1972
The mechanism of the development of autoimmune diseases still remains unknown, but if such diseases result from the impairment of cells or tissues by the auto-antibody, the clue to the elucidation of the entities of autoimmune diseases lies in the identification of the cells producing the auto-antibody and clarification of their kinetics.
