Antimucopeptide Antibodies and Their Specificity
The Journal of Immunology, 1969Abstract The immunochemical specificity of the common part of bacterial mucopeptide, which is composed of the polysaccharide backbone and the peptide side chains, was studied in a heterologous system consisting of soluble, nondialyzable, lysozymedigest of M. lysodeikticus cell walls as test antigen and anti-S.

Specificities of antibodies to oestrogens
Journal of Steroid Biochemistry, 1972Abstract Until recently attempts to endow antigenicity to 17β-oestradiol have invariably been made by conjugating protein (usually bovine serum albumin) via a hemisuccinate bridge to functional groups. Coupling in this manner produced antisera which unfortunately gave serious crossreactions with other naturally occurring oestrogens.

Stabilization of enzymes by their specific antibodies
Enzyme and Microbial Technology, 1991In nature, increased stability of enzymes has often been found to be associated with noncovalent protein-protein interactions. Specific antibodies should be suitable for this purpose. To test this hypothesis, we used a number of model enzymes, complexed them with their specific antibodies, and exposed them and the free enzymes to low and high ...

Effects of specific antigen and specific antibody on the kinetics of in vitro antibody production
Cellular Immunology, 1980Abstract An in vitro model system was used to probe the regulation of an ongoing antibody response. This system employed lymphocyte cell cultures prepared from the draining lymph nodes of rabbits immunized with glutaraldehyde-polymerized or heat-aggregated human serum albumin.

THE SPECIFICITY OF FETAL IgM: ANTIBODY OR ANTI‐ANTIBODY?
Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, 1975Reference materials were produced to standardize the immunoglobulin class specificity and potency of immunofluorescent anti-IgM conjugates used for diagnostic tests for congenital syphilis. In attempting to mimic essential immunologic characteristics of syphilitic and nonsyphilitic infant sera, we evaluated these sera in comparison with processed adult

THE SPECIFICITY OF NEPHRITOGENIC ANTIBODIES
Transplantation, 1986Polyclonal rabbit antirat thymocyte serum (ATS) has been shown to form in situ glomerular immune aggregates following perfusion into normal rat kidney ex vivo. This may be due to the presence of T-cell-like epitopes in the rat kidney, or it may be a result of contaminating anti-connective-tissue antibodies in ATS.

Chloramphenicol-Specific Antibody
Science, 1966Antibody to the antibiotic chloramphenicol was obtained by immunizing rabbits with a chloramphenicol derivative coupled to bovine gamma globulin. Production of antibody was demonstrated by the precipitin and complement fixation reactions with "reduced chloramphenicol" coupled to rabbit serum albumin as the test antigen.

Estimation of Antibodies Specific for Dextran
The Journal of Immunology, 1978Abstract Methods are described for the isolation and characterization of picogram quantities of anti-dextran antibodies. 14C-dextrans produced by using the dextransucrases of Leuconostoc mesenteroides strains B1355 and B512 were used in a radioimmunoassay.

IMMUNOGLOBULINS OF SPECIFIC STAPHYLOCOCCAL ANTIBODIES
Pediatrics, 1968Antibodies against a group protein antigen of coagulase-positive staphylococci, Jensen's protein antigen A, were present at similar concentrations in all paired maternal and cord sera. Teichoic acid antibodies were detectable less frequently but were present almost exclusively in cord sera from infants whose mothers' sera also contained teichoic acid ...

Anticardiolipm Antibodies: Specificity and Function
Lupus, 1994Antibodies detected by solid phase anticardiolipin immunoassays are heterogeneous but understanding the nature of this heterogeneity has proven difficult. Differences in any of the following features may account for differences in anticardiolipin antibodies: avidity for cardiolipin, phospholipid cross-reactivity, specificity for β2 glycoprotein I ...
