Transgenerational inheritance of paternal neurobehavioral phenotypes: stress, addiction, ageing and metabolism [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Epigenetic modulation is found to get involved in multiple neurobehavioral processes. It is believed that different types of environmental stimuli could alter the epigenome of the whole brain or related neural circuits, subsequently contributing to the ...

Therapeutic Potential of Agmatine in Essential Tremor Through Regulation of Lingo‐1 and Inflammatory Pathways

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 15, Issue 1, January 2025.
Agmatine significantly reduced tremors, ameliorated anxiety‐like behaviors, and attenuated harmaline‐induced locomotor deficits. At the molecular level, agmatine significantly suppressed the overexpression of Lingo‐1 elicited by harmaline. Moreover, IL‐6 expression was attenuated to an extent comparable to control levels.

Ginsenoside Rg1: A Neuroprotective Natural Dammarane‐Type Triterpenoid Saponin With Anti‐Depressive Properties

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 30, Issue 12, December 2024.
Rg1 exhibits antidepressant effects through diverse mechanisms, such as anti‐inflammation, synaptic protection, neurogenesis promotion, brain‐derived neurotrophic factor release, enhancement of astrocyte gap junction function, and regulation of hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal axis and antioxidative stress. Experimental studies validate Rg1's efficacy in

Which placebo to cure depression? A thought-provoking network meta-analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
BACKGROUND: Antidepressants are often considered to be mere placebos despite the fact that meta-analyses are able to rank them. It follows that it should also be possible to rank different placebos, which are all made of sucrose.
