Interventional radiology treatments for iatrogenic severe bleeding during percutaneous coronary interventions [PDF]
Purpose: Interventional cardiology and interventional radiology are separate medical disciplines in which intra-arterial contrast media are used. Interventional cardiology has resigned from many types of treatment techniques that are now used and ...

In Vitro Cysteine Reactivates Organophosphate Insecticide Dichlorvos-Inhibited Human Cholinesterases
Objectives: Organophosphate (OP) pesticides inhibit both red blood cell (RBC) and plasma cholinesterases (ChEs). Oximes, especially pralidoxime (2-PAM), are widely used as antidotes to treat OP poisoning.

Superconducting Vortex Logic Antidots [PDF]
We examine a building block for logic devices in which the positions of superconducting vortices in coupled elongated antidots provide the elementary logic states of 0 and 1. We show analytically and through simulation the maximum operating frequency of a pair of antidots as a function of antidot spacing and elongation. At finite temperatures, a signal

Chapter 9 Gene Drive Strategies for Population Replacement [PDF]
Gene drive systems are selfish genetic elements capable of spreading into a population despite a fitness cost. A variety of these systems have been proposed for spreading disease-refractory genes into mosquito populations, thus reducing their ability to ...

Anisotropic Caging of Interstitial Vortices in Superconductors with a Square Array of Rectangular Antidots [PDF]
We investigate anisotropy in the vortex pinning in thin superconducting films with a square array of rectangular submicron holes ("antidots"). The size of the antidots is chosen in such a way that it corresponds to a saturation number n_s=1, i.e. each antidot can trap at most one flux quantum.

Reducing vortex losses in superconducting microwave resonators with microsphere patterned antidot arrays [PDF]
We experimentally investigate the vortex induced energy losses in niobium coplanar waveguide resonators with and without quasihexagonal arrays of nanoholes (antidots), where large-area antidot patterns have been fabricated using self-assembling microsphere lithography.

Antidotal effect of combinations obidoxime/HI-6 and memantine in mice poisoned with soman, dichlorvos or heptenophos [PDF]
Introduction/Aim. In acute organophosphate poisoning the issue of special concern is the appearance of muscle fasciculations and convulsions that cannot be adequately antagonised by the use of atropine and oxime therapy.

Necessitarianism and Dispositions [PDF]
In this paper, I argue in favor of necessitarianism, the view that dispositions, when stimulated, necessitate their manifestations. After introducing and clarifying what necessitarianism does and does not amount to, I provide reasons to support the view ...
