Suppression of Peierls Instability in a Metal−Halide Porous Framework
Peierls distortion in one‐dimensional Pt‐I chains is suppressed by confinement within the periodic electrostatic environment of a porous Cu–I framework. X‐ray crystallography shows equivalent Pt–I distances without bond alternation, and conductivity of the Pt‐I chains is greatly enhanced.

This work investigates Mn incorporation into hematite‐based Fe1.5Mn0.5O3 and its impact on crystal structure and disorder using in situ high‐temperature XRD and quantum chemical calculations. Calcination controlled structural disorder enhances acidic OER activity, while operando Raman spectroscopy provides mechanistic insight into the roles of Fe and ...

Magnetocaloric Properties of Centered Molecular Quantum Spin Systems
Sub‐Kelvin temperatures are needed for quantum computers and other quantum devices. Refrigeration employing magnetic materials is able to achieve the necessary very low temperatures of a few millikelvins above absolute zero. In this article, we investigate the magnetocaloric properties of a class of centered magnetic molecules and study their ...
