Voriconazole treatment of Candida tropicalis meningitis: persistence of (1,3)-b-D-glucan in the cerebrospinal fluid is a marker of clinical and microbiological failure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Introduction: Infections are still the most common complications of cerebral shunt procedures. Even though fungal etiologies are considered to be rare, they are associated with significant morbidity and mortality.

3D Bioprinted Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma (HNSCC) Model Using Tunicate Derived Nanocellulose (NC) Bioink

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 14, Issue 7, March 14, 2025.
A 3D bioprinted HNSCC model for use in anti‐cancer drug testing is established in proof‐of‐concept. The innovative tunicate‐derived nanocellulose hydrogel proved to be a viable alternative to gelatin‐based hydrogel, offering improved bioprintability for HNSCC model establishment.

Isolation and Identification of Spoilage Fungus in Plum and Antifungal Effects of Antifungal Agents on the Spoilage Fungus

open access: yesShipin gongye ke-ji, 2022
In this study, the spoilage fungi were isolated and identified from “Cuihong” plum, “Qingcui” plum, and “Yinhong” plum. Then the antifungal effect of ε-polylysine, natamycin, and sodium dehydroacetate on the isolated plum spoilage fungus was studied by ...

Ultra‐Fine 3D Bioprinting of Dynamic Hyaluronic Acid Hydrogel for in Vitro Modeling

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
3D bioprinting merges tissue engineering and additive manufacturing to create biological structures. A bioink is developed by modifying hyaluronic acid, a natural extracellular matrix polymer, with cysteine. Potassium iodide is later added to tune gelation kinetics, enabling fine printing with a 32G needle.
