Development and Characterization of a Poly(l‐co‐d,l Lactic Acid‐co‐Trimethylene Carbonate) and Poly(Vinyl Alcohol) Blend for Potential Meniscal Repair

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Schematic representation of the PLDLA‐TMC/PVA blend structure developed for meniscal repair, highlighting its structural integrity, physicochemical characterizations, and in vitro biological performance. ABSTRACT Meniscal injuries, arising from trauma, aging, or wear, present a significant challenge in modern orthopedics.

Antifungal Susceptibility Testing of Fusarium: A Practical Approach

open access: yesJournal of Fungi, 2017
In vitro susceptibility testing of Fusarium is becoming increasingly important because of frequency and diversity of infections and because resistance profiles are species-specific. Reference methods for antifungal susceptibility testing (AFST) are those

Development, Evaluation, and Characterization of a Novel Mucoadhesive Film Containing Pterodon pubescens Benth Ethanolic Extract for Dental Use

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Pterodon pubescens Mucoadhesive Film for dental use. ABSTRACT Periodontal diseases involve infectious and inflammatory processes that affect oral tissues. Extracts from Pterodon pubescens Benth (sucupira) have demonstrated antinociceptive, anti‐inflammatory, anti‐edematogenic, and antiplatelet effects, highlighting their therapeutic potential for ...

Antibiotic Sensitivity of Vibrio spp. and Shewanella algae Isolated From Brood and Egg of Mud Crab Hatchery

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Vibrio alginolyticus NBRC 15630, Vibrio parahaemolyticus ATCC 17802, Shewanella algae DW01, and Shewanella algae ATCC 51192 bacterial strains were found in the Mud crab brood and egg samples. All isolates were found to be sensitive to cefotaxime, chloramphenicol, gentamicin, and nitrofurantoin antibiotics.

Evaluation of a Product Intended for Microbiological Control in Animal Production, and Its Combination With Halquinol

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Activo Liquid and Halquinol inhibit Salmonella and Escherichia coli in culture media. Activo Liquid exhibits bactericidal action, whereas HA is bacteriostatic, and their combination results in positive or indifferent interactions. This combination effectively inhibits E. coli throughout digestion simulation, thus reducing the required concentrations of

Antifungal susceptibilities of bloodstream isolates of Candida species from nine hospitals in Korea: application of new antifungal breakpoints and relationship to antifungal usage.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
We applied the new clinical breakpoints (CBPs) of the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) to a multicenter study to determine the antifungal susceptibility of bloodstream infection (BSI) isolates of Candida species in Korea, and determined
