Recent advances in the synthesis of fungal antigenic oligosaccharides
Pure and Applied Chemistry, 2016Abstract The driving force for the constant improvement and development of new synthetic methodologies in carbohydrate chemistry is a growing demand for biologically important oligosaccharide ligands and neoglycoconjugates thereof for numerous biochemical investigations such as cell-to-pathogen interactions, immune response, cell ...

Fungal antigens (Ags) are of great interest not only for the study of their fundamental properties, but also because of their use as reagents for the diagnosis of fungal diseases. The successful application of immunological tests for diagnosing mycotic infections is very important because the incidence and mortality of the mycoses, particularly those ...

Serological Proteome Analysis for the Characterization of Secreted Fungal Protein Antigens
2021Defining the humoral immune response to infectious agents is important for gaining insights into infectious diseases and the response of the immune system. It can further aid development of serodiagnostic tests, discovery of vaccine antigen candidates, and immuno-epidemiological research.

Immunochemistry of Fungal Antigens (Part B)
1993This chapter reviews some recent developments in the characterization of antigens that are potentially or actually useful as probes of the immune response in the primary systemic mycoses. Other sources should be consulted for a broader perspective.1–4 A species-specific immunodominant protein exocellular antigen (“exoantigen”) has been identified for ...

Physiologic Alterations in the Murine Model after Nasal Fungal Antigenic Exposure
Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, 2008ObjectiveTo determine whether a recently developed murine model of fungus‐induced sinonasal inflammation demonstrated alterations in ciliary activity and expression of inflammatory cytokines.Study DesignA prospective randomized controlled study of rhinosinusitis after fungal antigenic sensitization was performed with intraperitoneal aspergillus antigen

Determinants of Wheat Antigen and Fungal α-Amylase Exposure in Bakeries
AIHAJ, 1998The study's objectives were to measure flour antigen exposure in bakeries and define the determinants of exposure. Ninety-six bakery workers, employed in seven different bakeries, participated in the study. Two side-by-side full-shift inhalable dust samples were obtained from each study participant on a single occasion.
