Antilymphocyte Serum or Antithymus Serum
Archives of Internal Medicine, 1970The renewal and burst of interest in various aspects of heterologous antilymphocyte serum during the last several years appear to have resulted from the study of Waksman and his co-workers. 1 They demonstrated that rabbit antiguinea pig lymph node serum suppressed the delayed skin reactions to dinitrochlorobenzene, diphtheria toxoid, and old tuberculin

The Journal of Immunology, 1937
Summary A method for preparing an antiserum against guinea pig lymphocytes has been described. The injection of this antiserum into guinea pigs was found to cause a considerable lymphopenia which persisted for 40 hours or longer after a single injection, and which could be prolonged for at least 10 days by repeated injections.

Antilymphocyte Serum and Staphylococcal Infection
Nature, 1967HETEROLOGOUS anti-lymphocyte serum can produce a marked lymphopenia in a number of animal species, and has been shown to be a potent immunosuppressive agent as judged by the prolongation of skin graft survival in the mouse and rat1,2, and suppression of delayed hypersensitivity reactions in the guinea-pig3.

Clinical Experience with Antilymphocyte Serum
Immunological Reviews, 1982Many different antilymphocytic antisera have been used clinically, and the properties of any particular type of ALS are not necessarily identical to those of any other type. Nevertheless, it is possible to draw certain general conclusions about the effects of ALS in human subjects.
