Palladacycles as Antimicrobial Agents
Current Medicinal Chemistry, 2012This review article deals with the structure activity relationship (SAR) for a variety of palladacycles in biomedical applications. Moreover, the types of antibacterial, antifungal, antimycobacterial and antiprotozoal (antiamoebic and antitrypanosomal) activities will vary considerably from one country to another.

Quinolone Antimicrobial Agents
Annual Review of Medicine, 1992This chapter reviews the chemistry, microbiology, pharmacology, and clinical use of the fluoroquinolone antimicrobial agents. The molecular and clinical problems of bacterial resistance are reviewed. The clinical areas in which fluoroquinolones have been investigated are detailed, with particular attention to areas of appropriate and inappropriate use.

Interactions of antimicrobial agents and antineoplastic agents
Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy, 1986The in-vitro interactions of four antimicrobial agents (piperacillin, dibekacin, minocycline, norfloxacin) and four antineoplastic agents (mitomycin C, bleomycin, doxorubicin, 5-fluorouracil) were examined by the chequerboard dilution method using 108 clinical isolates of four species of Gram-negative bacilli.

The Use of Antimicrobial Agents
Clinics in Plastic Surgery, 1979Antibiotics are potent preventive and therapeutic agents. However, they do not render humans germ-free. The incidence of infection in most operations has changed little in the decades since antibiotics have been available. These drugs should be used with therapeutic precision with recognition of their limitations and, as pointed out in this article ...

Pediatric Clinics of North America, 1995
In any discussion of new antimicrobial agents in the 1990s, a warning and a plea are necessary. The spreading emergence of resistance among bacteria raises concerns for the effectiveness of antimicrobial therapy. Penicillin-resistant pneumococci are probably of most significance in pediatrics and are increasing in frequency, in part related to the use ...
