Encephalopathy: Cause, Pathogenesis, and Treatment

Various encephalopathies (sepsis‐associated, hepatic, hypoxic–ischemic, diabetic, uremic, toxic) have incompletely elucidated pathogenesis, which severely restricts targeted therapy development. Small molecule drugs show unique multitarget potential but face toxicity, poor blood–brain barrier penetration and unclear specificity.

Reduced‐Dose Dabrafenib–Trametinib for BRAF V600E–Mutant Lung Adenocarcinoma in a Very Elderly Patient With ECOG PS 2

We describe a very elderly patient with ECOG performance status 2 who initially declined systemic therapy because of concerns about adverse events but later achieved symptom improvement and sustained disease control with reduced‐dose dabrafenib and trametinib.

Summary Background: Erysipelas, caused by streptococci, should be treated with penicillin, while uncomplicated cellulitis (phlegmon), often caused by Staphylococcus aureus, requires penicillinase‐resistant beta‐lactam antibiotics, which have a higher risk of adverse effects. Distinguishing between these infections is important.

Intravenous immunoglobulin and febrile status epilepticus in children with Dravet syndrome: A retrospective multicentre study

This multicenter retrospective study evaluated the use of intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) in 14 children with Dravet syndrome as a preventive strategy against febrile status epilepticus. Over a 6‐month period, IVIG was associated with a significant reduction in hospitalizations for febrile status epilepticus.
